There is a rumor going around that there is going to be a 6 team blockbuster trade going down tomorrow. Got this from the Real GM Board: Just as I was getting very excited about the possibilities now I have to worry about one or more of our kids going again. Danny did say he wasn't done and was looking for other teams to get involved. It would be just like Danny to get half the league involved in one trade.... Here is a link to the thread on the Real GM trade board www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=543037

Oh no. I really hope this isn't going to be a trade we regret in a few years. No Iverson if its at the expense of Gerald and Al.

it's pure speculation right now. and it's too hard to believe a six team trade anyway

I browsed thru the thread you listed, FL, and one poster said he heard it involves Iverson, Pierce, Bonzi Wells (who is supposedly going to Indiana for Sarunas Jasikevicius and Greg Foster), among other teams included in this 6 team deal.
If there is a major mega deal tomorrow, I'm almost certain we are going to be involved. But the thing that's getting me anxious is wondering who we will give up. I'm not ruling Pierce out of the picture either. 6 teams sounds like a lot, but last summer, a 5 team trade went down, and Ainge was in it as well.
If Indiana is going to trade away Saras, I take it means that either A) they like Anthony Johnson enough to make him the starter, B) they have confidence that Johnson and newly acquired Orien Greene will be able to handle the workload, or C), Iverson is on his way to Indiana.
Hey, if Indiana is included, wonder if Jermain O'Neal is possibly included. I mean, if Iverson and Pierce are involved, maybe JO could be as well.
Take a look at it this way. We haven't heard of any plans to upgrade our frontcourt, even though we are surprsingly thin after trading away Raef LaFrentz. I don't think Ainge would seriously head into the season with Perk, Jefferson, Ratliff, and Dwayne Jones--too young and inexperienced, and no insurance if a player gets injured.

If teams are asking for Al Jefferson, wonder if Gomes' solid summer league play could tempt Ainge to trade Jefferson if it will net us a really good player in return?

I thought trades had to wait until later in the month, but probably wrong.

no everybody waited for the league to announce the salary cap figure. they caan sign all those advertised contracts now.
btw i just don't see the point of getting iverson and sending pp away. the whole point is to put them to play together. so that rules out that scenario. and i don't think pp is going anywhere

Sounds to me more like people getting on realgm and working different trade scenarios. Like BC said, the whole purpose of getting an NBA all-star was to pair him with Pierce. If we gain AI but lose PP, we don't progress at all.

Unless Ainge thinks Iverson can add more to this team than Pierce already does. He mentions wanting to use the speed of the guards more to utilize the new rules that allow quick guards an advantage.

I don't usually put a lot of stock in rumors but several people on the Kings site said they heard this from a sports caster who doesn't usually speculate on rumors. It may just be another rumor but I figured I would post it to prepare us just in case there is truth to it. I personally don't want to give up ANY of our kids. Depending on who we could get back, I would maybe give up Tony and would gladly give them Scal and maybe Ratliff but don't want to give up our kids.

I quickly dismiss this rumor as nothing more than a local Sacremento sports radio talk show goober who fell for a "credible" internet messageboard rumour engineered by myself or one of my colleagues of the Charcoal league (Baseball has their hot stove league in the winter so why not a Charcoal League for the NBA) using that realgm trade checker link again. There is nothing on the Celtics except that Pierce is close to getting his 3 year extension out to 2011. That is a very sensible move and gives me confidence that the Celtics will be able to turn into a winning team as soon as 2007. As far as I am concerned, I would like to trade Scalabrine out for an airline bag of peanuts.

Here here!!! This is one of the first trades I wholeheartedly endorse. Scal wouldn't be bad as a 13th or 14th man but as long as he is on the Roster, Doc is likely to play him a lot more than he should.
