Well, Al has said he is concentrating more on his defense. This is a good sign if he is understanding where to be on defense. Hope to see him improve in this area.

I think Denver has a pretty tall team. We may be having a hard time matching up with their height. But I'm assuming we are right there, step for step with them, because of our speed and aggressiveness.
Boy, 50 pts in the first half--we are a pretty high scoring team.

Doesn't look like much defense tonight. 81-80 through 3.

Wow, we are on pace for another 100 pt night. If Telfair and Rondo can bring this type of aggressive uptempo style to our parent team, we are going to be fun to watch. I can't wait to see the box scores from tonight's game.

Just checked out Celticsblog and their big time member named Gabe Kahn now writes for the Globe (or Herald). Anyways, I hope this isn't illegal to do, but thought I'd post his comments from today's game thread because he makes some interesting comments (if it is, I apologize).
~~35all after 1. green hit a half court shot @ the buzzer to tie it.
and don’t get too attached to tony. he’s likely gone by the end of the season…
~~legal issues have a lot to do with it. they’re not sure where his head is at. i think if you had to make a bet as to which of the guys won’t be around, you would be pretty safe with tony. all the signs (like his option) point to that. not just my opinion, btw.
43 all. al has 10 and 5, btw
~~um, likely to be here is hard, but i think it’s pretty clear that both tony and green could be have. sure looks like jones won’t be here much longer (like, cut in training camp). delonte should be staying forever, same with jefferson, though that could change. other teams are demanding Al in return for anything, so u never know if they change their minds. i’ve heard that perk is almost untouchable, but i’ve gotten a few conflicting reports about that…
50-47 c’s
~~a couple of things…i’ll try to send a few more updates but i gotta start getting some work done! it’s not so bad b4 halftime but afterwards, things get a little dicey and my night could be ruined if i don’t get a few pieces done soon(yes, one for the globe, too, PO!)
it’s 50 all. telfair is a very good overall passer, but the flashy ones make sportcenter and everyone talks about. out of the 10 assists last nite, only the between the legs one was particularly flashy, but it got the most press (and yes i know i’m morethan partially responsible for that; u gotta find an angle, though!) he’s got to learn to take a little better care of the ball, though…those 2 TO’s listed last nite was as big a lie as clinton ever told!!
also, fyi, i think tony’s a very good player, too, and i love watching him (have ever since i saw him here 2 years ago) but you’ve got to read the signs, like with marcus last year…
OK, gotta run, but i’ll check back and try to update. it’s been fun!
53-50 denver with :26 seconds left in the half…
~~ok, very quickly, i mean signs that the c’s are gonna somehow lose someone like they did with marcus…u know, a potential head case (yes, they both fit that) and not picking up their option…those kind of signs
~~74-73 denver with 1:49 to go in the half. allan ray had 4 pts at the half. not sure if he has anymore now…

Maybe Tony might be included in a trade. If Philly wants to rebuild with athletic youths, Tony Allen is the right guy for them. I'm a fan of Tony Allen, and I like what he can do on the floor. But he does have some issues and his concentration on the court isn't always sharp.

We lost the game to the Nuggets, but a lot of good things seemed to come out of this game.
First of all, Big Al had a good game, looking at the box scores. He had 17 pts, 11 rebs, and a block. Shot 7 for 12 from the field. Nice to see him picking up from last game.
Gomes had another solid night, scoring 18 pts (on 5 of 11 shooting), 4 boards, and 2 assists.
Rajon seemed to be the main PG tonight, or maybe that's just how things turned out. He was able to dish out 11 assists and score 11 pts (on 4 of 6 shooting). Meanwhile, our other young PG, only had 3 assists, was a scoring machine, tallying a game high 26 pts on 7 of 14 shooting from the floor and 10 of 13 from the free throw line. Seems like he was looking to score and Rajon was looking to run the team. Can't wait to see this game on NBAtv.
Gerald Green had his second consecutive big game by scoring 24 pts on 8 of 16 shooting.
Allan Ray had his first sub par shooting night, only scoring 9 pts on 4 of 12 shooting.
Our bench was outscored 42 - 12, but that's mainly because no one aside from Allan Ray and Leon Powe got any playing time off the bench (something is going on with Dwayne Jones).
Oh well, seems like we played with energy, but we couldn't hold down the Nuggets defensively.

What seems to be the obstacle, like it is with our parent ballclub, is that we don't have much impact from the bigs. Tonight, our wing players and PG's all put up terrific numbers. Telfair and Gerald had 26 and 24. Gomes had 18. Rajon had 11 assists.
But aside from Jefferson's 17 pts, I don't think we had much of an impact inside the paint from the post.
Much like our parent club, we are too perimeter oriented. And like it showed in tonight's loss to the Nuggets, we need more production from the 4 and 5.

Actually, even though we have one of the best starting 5's in the summer league, we don't have a good bench. Its basically Powe and Ray. That's another reason why we've lost 2 games already. Its important to have depth.
And that's what our parent team will have in a year or 2. Right now, we have Rajon, Delonte, Tony Allen, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, and Theo Ratliff off the bench. Plus maybe Powe and Ray too.
That's pretty solid depth right there. And those guys will be backing up Perkins, Jefferson, Pierce, Wally, and Telfair!!! Wow!

Gerald was 6-7 from 3 point land.
And some say that all this kid can do is dunk??
I hear that he gets compared to Kedrick alot.
Kedrick couldn't his 6-7 in warmups.
Danny, PLEASE DON'T use GG as a chip in ANY trade.
I would STILL trade Delonte, AL or Kendrick before I would trade Gerald.
Al and Perk are keepers because of our lack of frontcourt depth, but Gerald has STAR written all over him.
I really don't see why people would throw him in a trade for AI.
5 Years from now, Gerald will be a top 10 player in the league.
Some of you may laugh, but in all my years watching basketball, only a few at this age, LeBron and Magic come to mind, that made me say, "wow, this KID is gonna be great"
THe McDonalds game was the first time I sae Green, and I said to myself, "why can't the C's get a kid like this?"
Now, that we have him, Danny "DON'T TRADE HIM!"
Let's not forget the 15 points a game he avg the last 14 games of the year.
It's not the number of points he scored to me , but it was the way that he got them.
Three pointers, 15 ft pullups, slashing in the lane for floaters and last but not least, the skywalking dunks.
I am all for getting AI, but not at the expense of "the next one"
He still has a way to go in regards to assistas an D, but he seems to have the will to become a great player.
Only time will tell.
I just hope thhis time is spent in Celtic green.

Looking at the box score, they had a small rebounding edge, plus shot 52%. Looks like both teams looked to attack and score at a quick pace. Must have been a fun game to watch.

I hear you, LH8. I think very highly of Gerald's potential as well. The kid was scoring big time over Pierce and Ricky in practice, as a rookie out of high school!! I know that neither Ricky or Pierce are known for their defense. But they are veteran All-Star players, and Green wasn't afraid to lay it on them. He's going to be special.
Mev, I think we lack inside defense. Al is our Center, and we know of his defensive issues (knowing where to be, picking up ticky tak fouls, etc.). This may continue to be a problem in the final game of the summer league, unless Tony Brown uses Dwayne Jones more.
