2+ years ago, both players were highly acclaimed point guards coming out of high school. Rondo choose college; Telfair choose the pros. Who made the better decision, in terms of developing their game?

I remember watching both of them play in the McDonald's All-Star game (along with Big Al Jefferson). I was rooting for Sebastian, but Rondo impressed me more than Telfair. But interestingly, the PG who stood out the most to me, was Jordan Farmar.
Lets see. Telfair spent the past 2 years playing for a Portland team that just could not win. Rondo spent the last 2 years playing on a Kentucky team that could have possibly beat the Trailblazers. But he had to bottle up his playing style in order to fit into Tubby Smith's system. So who made the better decision in terms of developing their game? I would have to say Telfair did.

I think Telfair will be ahead of Rondo the next year and a half. After that it's hard to say. Plus Telfair might just be better anyway

Lets see, Telfair has shown flashes of brillance in the NBA already but not on a consistent basis while Rondo had a average college career at best.
Telfair definitely made the right decision or he wouldn't be on the celtics right now!

But wait. The other guy is on the Cs too. Excellent point! So, we certainly got two talented players in the past week. And they both play the hardest position in basketball. One has nba experience, the other doesn't. So, Telfair is already ahead of him on the depth chart. It's going to take atleast couple seasons for Rondo to catch up. I still expect Telfair to be teh starting pg next season at some point during the season.

I expect Telfair to start too. For like 2 weeks when Delonte sprains his ankle. And next year there will still be people sying we need a TRUE pg (as though Delonte is a fake one or plays one on tv) and are still willing to pass up big men in the draft to get one.
I think our big men will get better just by giving them Raef's and Scala's old minutes

I hope Telfair and Rondo are the last two pgs Ainge goes for. Besides, their weren't really any true poing guards in this draft besides Marcus Williams. Even he wasn't worth the 7th pick in the draft.
So, I rather take a chance with Telfair than go with a slow pg in Marcus Williams or a wannabe pg in Foye.

The one thing about both young PG's is that they both are exceptionally gifted floor generals. Both guys can pass the ball, and enjoy doing so. We haven't had a real passing PG in such a long time. Now we got 2 of them. Let the competition begin.
