Don't give up on Brian Grant
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brian Grant is a quintessential lunch pail PF and will fill a need rather cheaply for this years Celtics team. I know he has had injury issues but I heard the Celtics might not keep him. I think they should because he will help the Celtics win up to 5 extra games this year and that probably will be the difference between making the playoffs or going back to Secaucus hoping to get Greg Oden. I know some of the fans are excited about the acquisition of Rajon Rondo, but I think the Celtics will be most grateful to give Brian Grant an opportunity.
Phoenix has financial issues that will limit their window of opportunity, especially if Amare Stoudemire gets injured again. Perhaps Paul Pierce for Shawn Marion should be considered this summer if the Pierce contract extensions don't go well due to the probable failure of acquiring the Question Mark (I have always called Iverson the Question Mark throughout my trolling career). Some of you will say Sczerbiak for Marion but Phx will never sign off on that trade.

From all accounts Grant is cooked. His injuries will keep him from playing again. The reports also mention that Portland sent cash to pay the remaining year on his contract. I like the concept of Pierce for Marion, but Paul would not seem to fit in Phoenix' style of play. If they are going to have trouble signing Pierce, which I think is a strong possibility, considering they are trying to slice two years off his tenure, I think the Bulls are the likely partner, since we no longer need a point guard, those talks could be revived and a Gordon, Deng and next years (from the Knicks)#1 looks mighty good to me.
