Celtics should shop seventh pick Tim Weisberg Inside the Celtics
What does a basketball team with a roster chock-full of "tremendous upside" do with a lottery pick in a draft devoid of sure-fire superstars? No, seriously, I'm looking for an answer. And I'm pretty sure Danny Ainge is, too. The Boston Celtics hold the No. 7 pick in Wednesday's draft, a position that over the last 10 years has produced some intriguing names: Lorenzen Wright, Tim Thomas, Jason Williams, Rip Hamilton, Chris Mihm, Eddie Griffin, Nene, Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, and Charlie Villaneuva. Ainge would likely hand over this year's seventh pick if one of those players came to Boston as a result. But as the drafts get shallower, so does the possibility of getting a future All-Star in the seventh spot.

"Celtics should shop seventh pick" Tim Weisberg
**************
I'm sure Danny has, Tim. If there are any stones unturned in Ainge's process of finding the most value from this pick, I'd be very surprised. In the weeks leading up to the draft, this is probably the least explored option on the message boards, but, as has often been said and may never have been more "right on" than this year: "The value of the player is never higher than the night he is drafted." At the positions of our need, there are a lot of players being mentioned; from the quality, but slightly damaged: Boozer and Martin, to the superstars; Iverson and Garnette. I've also seen reports that quality role players; Stromile Swift and Chris Duhon could be had for a team looking to swap down. In about 56 hours, this whole speculation will be over. I guess we can recede back into our: "fire the coach" mode, but for at least the next two days, me thinks the wires will be full of trade talk, as the workouts are essentially over and every potential draftee has been analyzed more intensely than Hannibal Lechter.

If those are the guys drafted with the 7th pick then I guess those are the guys that are fair value for it

I sure would.

Fair market value in my opinion is #7 for another pick in the draft, plus a veteran who can contribute right away, or for 2 lower selections, preferably the picks NOrleans holds.
