Ainge can go many directions at No. 7 By Steve Bulpett Friday, June 23, 2006 - Updated: 07:16 AM EST
{Excerpt}
Doc Rivers would like to take the best of what’s on the board - but with the caveat that he’d prefer someone who has had some higher basketball education. “I’m looking for the best player honestly. I’d just like a guy with some experience,” Rivers said. “We have our team needs that we know, but what I’m hoping is that we get a guy who’s more ready than he is a project. I think we’ve already gone through the project guys, and obviously that’s bearing out for us. But to take the next step we have to improve our talent base and our talent-ready players. That’s what I’m looking for, guys who can walk on the floor right now and help us. I’m not looking for a position. Danny knows what we’re running. I’ve already showed him that.”
