Celts get it together with T’wolves: Ainge works with McHale By Steve Bulpett Wednesday, June 21, 2006
{Excerpt}]
The sessions were certainly beneficial for former Temple point guard Lynn Greer, who did nothing to tarnish his status as the reigning MVP of the Italian League. “Lynn came into the camp with the best credentials,” Ainge said. “We all saw him play this year and liked what we saw. He’s just a very good basketball player. He shoots the ball extremely well, and I think he can help a lot of NBA teams.” Assistant director of operations Leo Papile called Greer a big-time player. “He’s an NBA player,” he said. “Lynn’s a great shooter, and playing in Europe at a high level has improved his point guard skills. He was more like a scoring point guard at Temple, but now he’s a complete point guard. He can play.” Greer’s chances for being invited back are also enhanced by his status as a lefty. “As crazy as it sounds, you have Delonte, so it would be nice to have another left-handed guard because you don’t have to change sides of the floor when you run your offense,” Rivers said. “Right-handed guards like to run it on their side; left-handed guards like to run it on their side. If you have two left-handed guys, you never have to change sides. You can run the same play on the same side of the floor. I know that sounds quirky, but it does have value.” Greer can get away cleanly from his Italian commitment if he signs with an NBA club before August.

He sounds a lot like a Delonte clone, though. I like JWill because he gives us a different dimension. Oh well, we'll see what happens.
