Antoine Walker is not a fighter
Sorry about the momentary computer gltchery this morning. Sometimes the power of our brain causes electronics to literally overload in fear.
Anyway, Game 4. Miami wins in a blowout, and we've got a nice new series all tied up at 2-2. The world is safe for grand declarations about these being the best playoffs ever once again.
Perhaps the defining moment of last night's game was Jerry Stackhouse's 3-point takedown of Shaq on the fastbreak, which didn't bother Shaq, but did get Darrell Armstrong a little riled up.
"My impression was my daughters tackle me harder when I come home," O'Neal said. "You know, I'm one of the last players from the old school, and you know, you just have to take a hard foul like that and keep on moving. It actually felt pretty good to get hit like that. Thank you, Jerry, I appreciate it."
"You've got heroes like Antoine Walker coming up feeling like he's got to say something. For what? He hasn't fought one time in this league," Dallas' Darrell Armstrong said. "All of the sudden you're getting brave?"
This is what we've been waiting for - a little fire, confrontation, and trash talk. Especially if it involves Antoine Walker, who for some reason has become a favorite target of ours during this Finals. Likely because what wild-man Darrell says is so very true.
Not to say he isn't a hero in some ways. We've heard literally hundreds of accounts of Toine personally saving pastries from being allowed to spoil and be discarded. He does this by eating them, and making "mmmmm...." sounds while he chews.
Then after he swallows, he looks at the fresh pastries - the ones that don't need saving yet - and he gives them a wink and a "Don't worry kids. Your time will come. No pastry left behind."
