Is he really that good? (Shirley) I saw Lynn Greer play in the italian playoffs: he was truly amazing, an offensive one-man band. He shot the ball really well from the field, from three point range and from the line. His numbers are available at the link: 195.56.77.208/player/?id=GRE-LYN-79He is a true scorer, but not much of an offensive director. Only problem was that he seldom got the rest of the team involved and that at times he turned the ball over too much. But he is definitely an offensive threat, and giving him a good long look won't hurt. On defense..... well, Naples played a lot of zone defense, so I would examine that side of his game carefully. But he could be a better bargain than Jay Williams, especially when we need a point guard and if we are not eager to spend more than a million per year. One thing for sure: he had a season with statistics very close to the ones Charlie Bell obtained last year, and we saw what Bell did with Milwaukee this season. Fabio

Thanks for posting that here JB. I knew if anyone knew about Greer it would be Fabio.
I think I would rather have a PG who could run the team and get others involved but if J Will goes too high, we pick up a Big in the draft and no other FA's are available he would be a possibility. On the second team, we really needed a scorer last year. I have heard Danny say several times a team can't have enough scorers.

Yeah, when it comes to point guards; Ainge and Rivers seem to like players in their own image, which is to say scorers, not "pure points.'' As long as Perce is on the team, they may have no choice. Remember Walker and Kenny Anderson screaming at each other, on the court, in Miami, because Anderson thought it was his job to run the offense. Little did he know!

I would consider Greer to be a good bench scorer. In my estimation, Jay Williams has more potential to be a starter than Greer.
If we sign J-Will as a free agent, would we still go after Greer? If JWill is our starter, will Greer be able to beat out Delonte?
