Of course we don't get this from our own papers. Just saw this on Celticsblog from Philly www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports/14831616.htmA source indicated that Williams was scheduled to work out tomorrow for the New Jersey Nets and Monday for the Boston Celtics. Questions have remained about whether Williams has been able to regain his explosiveness and lateral quickness. He was scheduled to meet yesterday with Sixers president/general manager Billy King. This is a good sign that Danny is bringing him in. I still have this feeling that Danny is going for a big and going to sign a vet PG. He mentioned bringing in a veteran PG several times right after the season. I am still thinking that possibly that promise to Sheldon may have come from Boston. He would fit Danny's statement that his guy was projected 12-13. But if it isn't Sheldon, I think he will grab a big that slides and go after veteran leadership at the point.

Late on the J. Williams news, but first with the free agent camp! Omar Cook, James Lang, up to 15 participants. celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/view.bg?articleid=144156&format=text{Excerpt} Williams, however, may not even be the best free agent on the floor Monday. Lynn Greer, the former Temple point guard, has established himself as one of the best guards in Italy’s Serie A and is coming off a strong season for Naples. Other free agents will include onetime Celtics camper Omar Cook - a point guard who has been playing in Belgium - a pair of former star college swingmen in Vincent Yarbrough (Tennessee) and Keith Langford (Kansas), former high school draftee James Lang - a 300-pound center from Alabama - and former Nets guard Tamar Slay. Approximately 15 free agents will take part in the camp.

Lang had an impressive D-league season last year. He is definitely worth a look.

Here is a link to Greer's stats from Italy this year. I don't speak Italian but think he averaged 29 mpg and 23.5 ppg on 53% shooting from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. He shot 93% from the line and it looks like he averaged just over 7 FTs a game. He averaged 2.3 rpg and it looks like 3.5 apg. Not bad. Now I may be wrong on some of those because I was guessing at the Italian but seems like he had a good year. 195.56.77.208/player/?id=GRE-LYN-79

This kid sounds like a Mike James type player. not a bad asset to have for the second unit, but without a pure point guard and a revamping of the clear out offense, we might never develop an inside game, which takes advantage of Jefferson's and Gomes' skills. Come playoff time, the inside game becimes much more important.
