I got this from Celtics17 message board. Some good things from Al.
Did anybody catch this last night on NESN? It was aired during their half-hour sports roundup. I'll try to list as many things as I can remember: 1) Greg asked Al if he's lifting He looked slimmer with firm muscle tone in the biceps. He is hitting the weight room twice a day. 2) Greg asked Al if he wants to gain some pounds. Al said no, he actually wants to drop a few. He said he was around 275 but wants to be around 265. He said less weight would also help put less pressure on his ankles. 3) Al said his ankles still hurt but it's pain that he can play through. 4) He doing a lot of work with Clifford Ray. He mentioned one simple drill where he picks the ball up the floor (simulating a loose ball) and goes right up to the basket in one motion. 5) They showed some clips of Al taking short jump shots alternating each baseline. He hit them all. They also showed a nice clip of Al blocking a shot by Tyson Chandler. 6) Al said he would be ready to play if the season started today.7) Al said somethnig about getting back to where he was his rookie season, but I didn't quite follow what he was saying.
I also got from another post that he thinks the injuries were a good thing because they brought him down to earth and made him realize he had to work harder. Hopefully they are making him practice with the Karl Malone tape job. It will take him time to get used to having his ankles taped that tight and so he should be doing it now.

Al has got to learn to play like a beast. He's got to want that attitude that he's going to slam the basketball at every opportunity, like Amare.
He's definitely got a solid mid range jumper. Not quite the distance that Blount could consistently nail them, but right about 10 - 12 feet. I believe that Doc ordered Jefferson not to use it, though, because he wanted Al to learn how to score in the post and not get into the habit or relying on his jumper this early in his career.
Wow, Al did not look 275 lbs. If he can get himself down to 265, yet get stronger (not necessarily bulkier), he'll be quicker and more explosive. That sounds good. Doing that drill with Cliff Ray should help him to explode off the ground quicker.
