Ainge should look into the possibility of switching picks with New Orleans, who owns the 12th and 15th picks. See if they are interested in moving up to a higher spot in the lottery.
Say that Ainge really has his eyes set on a particular player whom he hopes will be there at 7. If that player is taken before the 7th, Ainge may want to have a pre-arranged trade with the Hornets that will give them the rights to the player we take with the 7th pick (maybe they want a guy like Patrick O'Bryant or Marcus Williams) and in exchange they draft the players we want with their 2 picks.
This will allow us to grab a PG like Will Blalock, Rajon Rondo, Daniel Gibson, Jordan Farmar, Sergio Rodriguez, or Kyle Lowry and then use the other pick to take a guy like Saer Sene (depending on how he does in the workouts), Shannon Brown (who Ainge may already want to draft), or JJ Redick (Ainge likes shooters).

we're pretty young. one more youngster is better than two i guess, especially if he's better than two later picks.

With the NBDL at our services, I don't mind picking up young players who can get seasoning at the minor league level.

I have been thinking along those same lines Derren.... I think that makes a lot of sense. I would go for a Point and a Big if we could do that... possibly S Williams or OBryant and Rodriguez, Blalock or Brown. It makes a lot of sense. Kind of like the trade we did when we got Perk and Banks.... We draft their guy... they draft ours and then we swap.

Right, FL12. Or maybe the Hornets don't want to give up both picks--in which case I would trade the 7th pick for their 12th and a second rounder. Maybe we can pry Rajon Rondo with the 12th pick. I'm all for Randy Foye, but I'm beginning to think that he won't last till the 7th (I worry about ATL or MIN taking him before we do).

I am thinking too of that possibility, but swapping #7 for both of NO's first rounders. Or swapping #7 for one of the first rounders, plus PJ Brown.

Yeah, that would be nice too. I'm still hoping we get a veteran big man, and PJ Brown would be nice. Perkins, Jefferson, and DJ will still show their youth from time to time, and I want a veteran there to get us through those periods.

Maybe we could do: 7th pick, Scala for 12th pick, 15th pick, and Brown. Then with the 12th we pick Rodriguez or Rondo, and we pick a big with the 15th (Armstrong?, Sene?). I would be happy if that trade went through. But, I think that Danny should only do this if Foye is no longer there at 7. If Foye miraculously slips past the Hawks and the T'Wolves and falls into our laps at 7, I think we should pick him. I strongly think that this kid has a chance to be the next Chauncey Billups. I would be fine with Spanish Chocolate or Rajon though. They're pretty good too .

I don' think any team wants Scala, but I like the result.
