Read on a different site that some teams are looking at former Dukie and Chicago Bulls PG Jay Williams, and we are one of them. He's working out for some teams, trying to get back into the league after having a devastating injury to his lower body in a motorcycle accident.
I know many of you don't care for Jay Williams. Just thought I'd pass on this piece of news.
Just the fact that no team has taken a chance on him yet might be a tellling sign that he is just a shell of his former self. I thought he really had a chance to be a big time PG in the NBA before his accident.

If they go big in the draft and sign Jay to a minimum contract and put him in the NBDL to see what he can do I'd have no problem with that.

Exactly. There's no harm in giving him a contract and letting him prove himself at the NBDL level for the right price. If he plays well, it'll boost his confidence back up and maybe he can work his way onto the team.
I'm happy that Ainge is, at least, giving him a look. He needs to explore all options because there's only a select few to choose from among veteran PG's who can help us out next season.

Nothing happens to Dickau (not a lot happens at the end of the bench) and he gets paid cause the NBA union has done an awesome job for its membership. If they want to motivate him they should send him to the NBDL if that's allowed, where NBA players go to die.
Nobody would have thought twice about giving MJ a contract if he was coming back from a similar injury. No reason not to try Jay W
