This is probably one of the better times to trade for AI because his stock is a little lower than past years. Phillly hasn't won anything with AI, he's known to be hard to work with, and he's probably one of the biggest whinners in the league. My question is If AI becomes available will Ainge make a pitch for him?
I've only brought him up because I heard once on the Radio before the trading deadling during an interview Wyc said no comment about any mentioning of AI being brought up. And the recent Ainge interview where Ainge says he is a big fan of AI.
I'm not saying their is a legitmate rumor out there about AI coming to Boston but it seems like a legitmate idea to bring up far as fitting the criteria of adding a veteran PG to this team.
Here is my trade scenario: (Possibly add this year lottery pick).
Philadelphia Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Allen Iverson
6-0 PG from Georgetown
33.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 7.4 apg in 43.0 minutes
Incoming
Raef LaFrentz
6-11 C from Kansas
7.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24.7 minutes
Gerald Green
6-8 SF from Gulf Shores Academy (HS)
5.2 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 11.8 minutes
Delonte West
6-4 PG from St. Joseph's
11.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.6 apg in 34.1 minutes
Change in team outlook: -8.2 ppg, +7.2 rpg, and -0.8 apg.
Boston Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Raef LaFrentz
6-11 C from Kansas
7.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24.7 minutes
Gerald Green
6-8 SF from Gulf Shores Academy (HS)
5.2 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 11.8 minutes
Delonte West
6-4 PG from St. Joseph's
11.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.6 apg in 34.1 minutes
Incoming
Allen Iverson
6-0 PG from Georgetown
33.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 7.4 apg in 43.0 minutes
Change in team outlook: +8.2 ppg, -7.2 rpg, and +0.8 apg.
Successful Scenario
Due to Philadelphia and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Philadelphia and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
