Wally is done for the reast of the season. I think this is a good move. The only thing that continuing to play him is going to do is possibly damage it further. Shutting him down early will give him more time to heal and rehab before training camp. www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/April 06, 2006 Szczerbiak's done By Shira Springer, Globe Staff Wally Szczerbiak will miss the rest of the season because of continued problems with his left knee. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery next week. Szczerbiak came to the team at mid-season in a trade from Minnesota and has averaged 17.5 points in 32 games with the Celtics. He played 32 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Wizards and scored 10 points.

I agree. Better now that later. This gives him more time to get ready for next season. It also opens the door for a couple kids to gain minutes during games.

Hopefully that doesnt throw a monkeywrench into the freshnthehouse fantasy b-ball championship machine. Lets hope Maniac Matt Bonner is ready to go on a tear.

Out of curiosity, I am wondering if surgery now vs. rest will have more of a negative long-term effect on his career?
