Gomes is a really hard working player. Perhaps the biggest steal of last year's draft.

I expect him to make it into the top 5. AT LEAST.
I agree RR. Yet another solid, solid selection by Danny. In hindsight, I wouldn't have been so mad if we grabbed him at 18, although I am ecstatic we were able to nab Gerald $.

I cannot tell a lie. He is now playing better than I would have expected.
Have been several articles which talk about him having good speed to get by other 4s. Hope that is true.

I cannot tell a lie. He is now playing better than I would have expected. Me too Ferbo. If he finishes out the season like he's been playing of late, he could really push for the ROY Award.

Maybe all the rookie team but ROY? Chris Paul won that award as soon as he was drafted. Not to mention taking NO/Okla to a winning record and a game away from 8th seed.

Not enough PT to be ROY.
Maybe not on rookie team.
BUT if he had played most of the season like he is now, he would have made it.
Is he the real deal? Can he do it after the surprise is gone?
His emergence seems somewhat like Reggie Lewis way back when. Bird went down. Lohaus started the season and struggled. Lewis got a start against Chicage as irecall, and went off like gangbusters.

The way I see it the OY should be the rook who has the biggest positive impact on his team, or plays the best. I don't think you could give it to Ryan after playing only a third of the season when Chris Paul has basically been the best player on his team and one of the best pgs in the league all year, but I could see Gomes being runner up.
