ASSETS ~'06 first rounder ~'07 first rounders (our own + Cleveland) ~conditional first (Los Angeles Lakers) ~conditional first (Minnesota) ~two second rounders (via Antoine trade to Heat)
LIABILITIES ~two second rounders (years unknown) to Minnesota ~pick owed to the Hawks (via Antoine trade) ~second round pick in '06 to the Hornets (via Dickau trade)
Seeing that the two 2nd's probably cancel eachother out -- that means we've got 5 first rounders we COULD use in the next couple years (two of which we can drag on afterward) with only one second rounder as a "liability"---in a weak draft too. My honest guess is that Danny is looking for the right deal to use a bunch of picks with, whether it be in a deal to get rid of Raef, or even the remote possibility of trying to acquire a superstar (Garnett)? It's wishful thinking, yet having so many picks is just too intriguing. The odds that we acquire a Garnett-type are very slim, however, so I assume the Celtics are just looking to hit the jackpot with one of those picks. Ainge knows a thing or two about hitting the jackpot in the draft.
gp- This was too hard to read red on grey, I changed it to maroon. Cool?

Danny has some cards in his hand to play with. Options to move up in the draft or make trades, this off-season.
limegreen on black... ;D

I'm changing it to white...lol...I think I'll stick to white from now on.
Yeah we have a lot of options. Another reason why I think Danny is doing a lot better job than people give him credit for. If he wanted to trade Raef, Veal, and Dickau, for example, he could use a few of those picks to get them out of town. But he's using his cards wisely, and something tells me that he has a specific plan in mind. I'll give him rope considering his superb draft history.

I am stealing this from "sports guy", but with the hand Danny has, include Bosh, and O'Neal (jermaine) on that short list.

I'm changing it to white...lol...I think I'll stick to white from now on. It's all good, with the colors and all. It's just the background that makes some harder to read. Play with them, black vs grey... Have fun here... Good to see ya post, GP.

I should add that we will also recieve Golden State's second (via Phoenix) from the Walter McCarty trade.

Great post GP.... Danny has definitely done a great job of stockpiling assets. If you look at what he had when he took over to what he has now, you just have to stand back and admire his wheeling and dealing. A lot of people are down on taking Raef but most don't realize that we wouldn't have Delonte without the pick that we got for taking Raef.... And Raef has been a decent player for us over all if you ignore the contract. I always say if the owners don't mind paying it, why should we mind it.
I look for Danny to sort out what we have the rest of this year by watching how the kids develop with more playing time and possibly trade one or two... Scal and Raef would be candidates for that... along with Tony if he can't come back from this knee injury. The picks he has definitely would help with getting a team to take them.
I think we are really close to having a team that will compete for years. I think Danny will extend Pierce's contract and when he is ready to retire, Green will be an All star who can step right in. Delonte will be an all star. I even see Perk and Al getting to that point. Possibly even Gomes... These kids are all hard workers from all accounts and with hard work comes progress and these kids are going to be very good.

Good post Florida...The potential and tools are there, but only hard work can get the kids to reach their peak. And that comes down to coaching...and in a developmental sense, I don't think Doc recieves enough credit, in my opinion.
Anyhow, I got this on another board (I posted the same thread on REALgm). Check this out:

So in other words, we could have three strong picks in the '07 draft, or roll 2 of them over to '08 (which is also supposed to be strong).

If you were a team like the Wolves and you had an expensive as hell superstar like Garnett who never got you past the first round of the playoffs you might have to think pretty hard about aquiring 4 first rounders and starting over.
If you were the Celts you might have to think pretty hard about keeping them
