Green is going back to the NBDL but this time to the Flame. At least he will be in a winning program this time. I was going to put this in the old GG D League thread but that was for Fayetteville so figured we would start a new thread to watch his stats there. aol.nba.com/celtics/news/press021606-green-flame.htmlCeltics Assign Gerald Green to D-League BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that the club has assigned Gerald Green to the Florida Flame of the NBA Development League (D-League). Green was originally sent to the Fayetteville Patriots of the D-League on January 6, 2006. In eight games (including five starts) with the Patriots, he averaged 12.6 points, shooting 45.5 percent from the three-point line, to go with 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 26.5 minutes per game. His best all-around game came at Florida February 2 when he scored 15 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and swiped 3 steals. Green scored a season-high 21 points at Roanoke on January 27. Green, a 6-8, 200lb forward was selected by the Celtics 18th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft, coming out of Gulf Shores Academy in Houston, Texas. As a senior, Green averaged 33.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game on his way to being a two-time All-State selection. In his junior season he led Gulf Shores to a 39-2 record as he averaged 28.8 points, 13.0 rebounds and 6.0 blocks per game. Green was named to the 2005 McDonald’s All-American Team where he won the Slam Dunk Contest and scored 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting, including 6-for-9 from three-point range. He was named MVP of the Reebok ABCD All-Star Camp in the summer of 2004.

For whatever reason, I expect in Gerald's second trip to the NBDL, that he will put up some huge numbers. He knows what to expect down there now, and I think his confidence will be high.
The dude looked buffed in one of the photos that I saw. He's gotta be 6'8" and a solid 225lbs now. I expect big things from him in the second half of the season in the NBDL.

Here are GG's former DLeague coach's parting thoughts on Green's time with the Patriots.....
“He worked real hard and he was eager to learn,’’ Brown said. “I was glad to have an opportunity to work with him.
“He has a tremendous upside. There is a lot of potential there and he can actually score on anyone. He is learning some other things, NBA-wise, defensively, individual and team defense he needs to work on. But he picked up a lot of things in the short time he’s been with me.’’
On to new and better things!!! The Flame play tonight in Roanoke but I am not sure if Green will be there and ready to play by tonight. I will report on the game if he plays.

Green played tonight for the Flame as they lost 112-105 to the Dazzle.
Green played 15 minutes and had 6 points on 3 for 6 shooting. He went 0 for 2 on Free Throws. He also had 1 rebound (defensive), 1 steal, 1 blocked shot, and 2 turnovers.
Here is the recap:
Dazzle Rally Past the Flame ROANOKE, Va., Feb. 18 – Will Bynum put up a double-double with 22 points and 10 assists to lead the Roanoke Dazzle to a 112-105 victory over the visiting Florida Flame at the Roanoke Civic Center (Bynum also had 5 turnovers)
The Dazzle, who spent most of the last two days stranded in various airports, came out sluggish in the first quarter allowing the Flame to open the game with a 16-2 run. Bracey Wright scored eight of his game-high 33 points in the first quarter, leading the Flame to a 28-17 lead.
In the second quarter it was the Dazzle bench led by D’or Fischer and Kevin Owens that awoke and started the Dazzle rally. Fischer had 12 points in the quarter on array of put-backs and dunks while Owens chipped in with eight points in the quarter. At the end of the half the Flame lead had been cut to five points at 53-48.
The second half would be a back and forth battle featuring nine ties and five lead changes.
The Dazzle were able to grab the lead for good when Bynum found a cutting Anthony Grundy for a lay-up at the 2:11 mark in the fourth quarter. Grundy then made a three-point play on a lay-up plus one free-throw to ice the victory for the Dazzle and make the final score 112-105.
“You talk about a gutsy performance,” said Dazzle Head Coach Kent Davison. “For those guys to play with that kind of heart and never-say die attitude, I am so proud of them.”
For the game the Dazzle had six players score in double figures led by Bynum’s 22. Fischer had 17 points along with a team-high nine rebounds, Peter Ramos also had 17, Isiah Victor had 13 while Owens had 12 and Grundy also had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Flame Head Coach Jeff Malone was disappointed with his team’s loss, saying “We didn’t tough it out and make enough plays down the stretch. We’ll regroup, and go home for four straight games.”
The Flame had their entire starting five reach double figures for the game with Wright leading the way with his 33 points. Andre Barrett had 17, Duane Erwin had a double-double with 15 points to go with a game-high 11 rebounds, Austin Nichols had 14 and Theron Smith chipped in with 13.
With the win, the Dazzle improve 15-16 on the season and have won their last two games. The Dazzle will next fly out west to play a pair of games against the Albuquerque Thunderbirds next Friday and Saturday.
The loss drops the Flame to 20-12 on the season. The Flame will head home to host the Fort Worth Flyers at the Germain Arena on Thursday night.

In the CG NEWS today I posted an article where Danny thinks he needs to elevate on his jumpers so I would say that he needs to work on that to make Ainge happy also.
