My friend was just talking about this rumor. I hadn't heard about it. Pierce/Jefferson/Raef for Garnett in some sort of deal. This lineup would be sweet.
West
Green
Szerbiak
Garnett
Perkins
I know people are going to be pissed about trading Jefferson but I've always thought the C's need a PF that can range outside as well as play inside to compliment Perkins, and who does that better than Garnett?

I don't see this one happening. Besides. If Wally and Garnett weren't working for Minny, why would they work together any better in Boston? This is one I don't think will work out. I have heard all kinds of rumors but there is no way of knowing what Trader Dan has up his sleeve.

I still think this Szerbiak deal is just Ainge setting the stage for something much bigger. I'm not a cap guru, but there was a reason for taking on Kandi's expiring contract. Perhaps RAef, plus multiple picks and perhaps a prospect ala Jefferson or Green will be dealt for Garnett this summer pairing Pierce and Garnett in the east.

I think that's an ok trade cause we send two huge contracts and a possible future huge contract for one of the best players in the league. I guess the question is are we willing to trade away Al J in order to also trade away Raef, and I would think the answer is no, but saving all that money is unusual. I would maybe also try to get a draft pick or possibly Mccants.
I think Garnett with a real center like Perk and a real pg like West could do something unlike his situation in Minny and I don't think Pierce is leading us to a championship with those guys any faster than KG. Basically get KG and dump a lot of salary. You don't usually get to do that.

One thing we gotta remember about KG is that he makes more than the max contract. he signed his huge deal before the CBA, so he makes over 20 mill a year.

He can't have that many years left on that thing though. maybe you are right though. IF he makes 25 that's only like three less than Pierce's 17 plus Raef's 11. But Al J makes like 2 or 3 and will get a big payday

I highly doubt we get Garnett without giving up Pierce. Especially if we are dumping bad contracts onto Minny. That would be like a dream come true, wouldn't it?
But would you guys be willing to move Pierce, among other players, to get Garnett?

I can't image T'Wolves/Celtics make two major trades in less than a year of time.
So, I seriously doubt Garnett will ever be in a Celtics uniform.
