I've seen a lot of owners come and go, and nothing will make me stop watching the Celtics.
I don't have strong feelings about Bezos one way or the other, but there's no denying he has enough money so that the NBA luxury tax won't prevent us from keeping this group together for another several years.
That said, I'd prefer local ownership by a real Celtic fan, as long as they prioritize winning over making money.

Bezos can never have enough money. He likes to cut spending. He could buy 100 NBA's. Guys like him are not known for spending and certainly not paying taxes LMAO!

He doesn't need any money he might make by owning the Celtics, and he might not make any at all - at least over the short term - so I'm assuming that being the owner of the Boston Celtics would be more of an ego play than anything else. And it's more prestigious to be the owner of a championship team than an also-ran. It is somewhat weak though to buy a team that's already on top. It's not like he'll get much, if any, credit. He'd get far more if he brought an expansion team to Seattle and built a winner there.

Now that's something I would be ok with. Seattle back in the NBA is long overdue. I am not ok with being a POS billionaire's toy who has no plans to spend on anything and doesn't pay taxes. I haven't even touched on the overwhelming and readily available scammy anti-human, anti-american things this man has done which should've barred him from even being allowed his monopoly in the first place. But in terms of just being bad for the team, mark my words. Speaking of mark... I would take a couple dozen Mark Cubans over Bezo's pinky toe. Last thing... Picture this... Boston Celtics AMAZON Arena CRINGES just from typing that.  |
