Sam Hauser signed a 4 year, 45 million dollar extension that keeps him in boston through the 28-29 season. Awesome for him to get that kind of life changing money, and i think it's a good deal for the C's. I'm guessing by 2028 the MLE is gonna be around 18 mill a season. Max Strus got 4 years/ 62 million, and IMO he's not noticibly better than Hauser.

I think between the drafting of Schei and Anton and Jordan Walsh and bringing in JD Davison, House, and Springer, next year after Horford's contract is up we could see some sort of trade, especially if we draft a big or two and they look good. Or bad. Just if you combine Hauser's 11 with Pritchard's 6 maybe you bring in a guy that makes 14 and save yourself like 9mill. Or you trade Schei and Springer and bring in a guy making the MLE and save like 6mill.
I feel like Stevens has put us in a position where we're better off than the days where we reeeaalllyy were hoping to see something out of the Langford and Nesmith's of the world. If Schei fails I'm not freaking out.

Hauser's contract is very tradable for future purposes and keeps him happy now. Scheierman could be a replacement for Hauser. He has all the tools it would seem. Watson could replace Horford when he retires or if his game goes downhill due to age. And both at a bargain price for the next few years.

I'm not sure we can combine salaries of multiple players (ie a 2 for 1 deal) given our cap status.

Case in point: next year Hauser makes $11mill and Jonas Val makes $10. I'd do that in a heartbeat when you have a banged up Porzingis and a 38 year old Al.
