What do we have in Jaden Springer?

Honestly, I have no idea what to think of Jaden Springer. To me he's strictly a defensive specialist. I don't trust him handling the ball, I don't expect him to have a reliable three point shot, his drives cause me to cringe -- the only thing I do think he's ok at is pulling up inside of 15 and sinking those jumpers.

I was no Avery Bradley fan, but I'd take a young Bradley over Jaden.

But Brad Stevens traded for him and gushes about his defense.

What do you guys think -- can Springer become
anything offensively?

I liked Avery Bradley. There are quite a lot of star vets who look back at him being a really tough match up Defensively. Some even say the one to give them the most challenge and trouble. He would pick up players three-quarter, half, or sometimes even full-court pressing and harassing and ultimately picking their pocket.

His motor was elite but if you want to look back at one of the main reasons Ray Allen left (which people tend to forget or not know) is that Doc decided he wanted Ray off the bench in favor of Bradley. Even for me, that was a dumb move and decision. But Doc had high hopes for Bradley and his stock was on the rise.

I think Ray got and still gets a lot of hate but if we look at it he was done a bit dirty here in favor of PP and KG. The beefs with Rondo, who let's be fair, didn't like Ray and tried to challenge him at every turn cuz Rondo was young and bold and starting to feel himself.

All that being said, we needed a bradley type off the bench in those days. Like we needed a Tony Allen type. A guy you could just say lock up Kobe full court whole came don't let him breathe. And they would.

This team now is different. every position is pretty much an elite defender. Does Jaden play better D than Hauser? Do we need a maybe 6'4" wing who can't hit more than 20% from three? Is he better than Davidson who we also don't need and can't use anyway?

Long story short, I don't think we need jaden.
