What say you -- is Pritchard our bench PG? Or do we need to upgrade here?
I'm a Pritch fan! Love his game, his swag. I think he's a shifty scorer and he really knows the game (when to pass, when to shoot, when to attack). I love his rebounding and energy.
But he's on the shorter side, and against the Mavs Luka hunted for his mismatches and easily won. It's not that Pritch is a poor defender, just short.
Would we better off with a taller PG off the bench who can defend and shoot? Or roll with PP?

I for sure am not advocating this, but I've read in order for the team to reduce payroll and get under the 2nd apron, trading Pritch and Springer for, I guess, second rounders or something, could get it done.
I don't want to see that, but if we do trade Pritch, I hope we draft Cam Spencer from UCONN, who would be my ideal Pritch replacement.

Keep Pritch. He keeps getting better, he's fearless and he's fun. Underrated defender, good rebounder, reliably healthy, always ready. Best end of quarter player we have.

Trading Pitch strikes me as a championship losing move. He's literally the anti-Smart. If you have a 2nd rounder or a player who's just obviously not a star you pretty much show him video of Pritchard and say "You wanna stay in the league a long time? Do what this guy does."
"You mean master a critical skill or two, don't make many mistakes, play tough, give everything you have on defense on every play, stay ready, and don't get greedy with your contract?"
"Yeah. And get just a tad better every offseason. Be like Pritchard."
I guess he's arguably the guard version of Leon Powe. Whenever KG exited the game and Leon came in you were fine with it. Nothing to worry about.

What Eja said!! I love Pritchard. I think trading him for anyone would be a step backwards. He plays hard every second, rarely makes mistakes, grabs offensive rebounds in spite of being the smallest guy on the floor, is a good defender and those last second heaves that he makes at a high rate are awesome and are daggers, no matter when they come. And, he's on a good contract. When you are trying to repeat as champions, it's not the time to pinch pennies and trade a player that was integral in winning the title in the first place.

He's no worse than 7th man on a championship team and his contract is slightly above MLE. How do you improve on that? How do you get more bang for buck than that? It reminds me a little of when they traded Perk (and Nate Robinson) for Nenad and Jeff Green. Terrible. Looks ok on paper but it absolutely is not in real life.

It's unanimous -- we all love Pritch!
I guess whenever we play DAL, we just make sure to play Pritch when Luka is resting cause Doncic was hunting for him on offense.

If that was the requisite for keeping a player, then the Mavs should get rid of Luka because the Celtics constantly hunted him on defense as well. In Luka's case it is because he didn't put the effort out on defense, Pritch puts the effort out but doesn't have the size and in fairness, Luka scores on just about everybody.

I saw Pritchard give Pascal Siakim hell. I don't think of him as a bad or limited defender. Not elite, but good. Maybe only good for 20 minutes but good.

Ya Pritch hasn't figured out the elite D part yet where as I feel Hauser is a lot farther along. Yet, I can see Pritch putting the pieces together more this coming season. He will have to if he wants PT. We value two-way players and that's how he will get mins and stay on the floor in this system.
