I think it's very cool that every single one of our Top 8 contributed to this win. Pritchard only played 4 seconds, but no one is going to say he didn't help us win.

I've been basking in this, watching and listening to all the interviews, reading the articles. I can't get enough. I'm so happy for everyone around the team and all of us who have ridden with them through all the highs and lows. I only have one small amendment to all the great posts above. While Celtics 18, Lakers 17 is accurate, I prefer Boston 18, LA 12. The Lakers first 5 championships were won when they were in Minneapolis. 100% The Lakers have 5. The Fakers have 12.

I have seen pundits saying the Celtics had the easiest road to the Championship. But 9 out of 12 of the analysts picked the Mavs to beat the Celtics. So that means they weren't a weak team. The Celtics played just hard enough to beat the Heat, Cavs and Pacers. I have no doubt they would have beat them if they were at full strength. It's not like the Celtics struggled, either. They lost just 3 games throughout the playoffs and the games they lost were ones that they took their foot off the gas. And don't forget that the Celtics were missing a big part of their team also with KP out. I just think it's funny that people are trying to downplay the Celtics win.

If I am any of those other teams I would be insulted as well.It was evident to me that each team was a strong playoff contender and played with great determination against us. A few teams will have grown from this and next year will be tougher, but to say any team has it easy in the playoffs is just ridiculous on a lot of levels. I mean, do they forget the way Boston rolled through the regular season? Do they forget where they finished in the standings? Do they also forget how Boston handled their home games? Do they also forget how Boston also rolled through Western teams? These people will find a way to hate on the C's just because they don't want them to win and the modern sports media are all Lukastans.
We were also banged up and missing a cornerstone to our system in KP as you mentioned, but no one wants to hear the C's complaints or excuses. Though they're quick to be apologists for these other teams we emphatically bounced every round. One thing we see but they don't is how we had to adjust our offense and defense on the fly when KP went down. We had to find our way if we hoped to compete in the Finals and slowly but surely we worked out some kinks and we did. Obviously, there were some loses and mistakes making wins too close for comfort, however, we weren't having to play lights out yet in those early rounds but it's not like those teams just laid down for us.
They overlook just how special this team is. However, I wouldn't be so pompous as to consider if one of those other Western Conference teams had broken through, the matchups could've made for a totally different series and outcome. Think Nuggets. Yet Mavs were the better team to represent the West this year and they got handed...get over it.

"We are the champions!" 16-3. I thought every opponent was a worthy challenger, however BOS exercised its playoff demons in one swift stroke.

Wow! Thanks for that, Loy.
It is mighty impressive the facelift Brad had given the team he inherited. Getting Horford back was smart. Trading for DWhite was shrewd. Getting a first round pick from Washington in addition to Porzingis was masterful. Getting Jrue was lucky (thank you Milwaukee!).
It all just worked out!

Another stat showcasing our dominance: The Celtics had a lead of at least 20 points in 50 out of 101 games covering the regular season and playoffs. This was a dominant team, but haters will hate.
All this nonsense about how the Celtics didn't beat anyone may just be exactly what they need to fuel the fire to repeat. I'd love to see them win even more games next year while repeating and beating a healthy MIL and DEN along the way.
