Some things I've been reading about Jordan Walsh, as well as some thoughts ...
He's an extremely hard worker.
In addition to having great size (6'7" with a 7'2" wingspan), and really good if not elite athleticism (41" vertical), he has quick feet and great lateral mobility. Brad says he has the ability to swallow up opponents. There's always a place for a guy like that, even if it's only for a few minutes at a time. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone who Jimmy Butler didn't abuse at the end of games?
He plays "almost too hard".
The Celtics had him in twice for workout and Brad says he gets better every time they see him.
For those who are in mourning about losing Smart, this guy may be your new favorite player.
Very raw offensively, but so was Jaylen, and hard work goes a long way. It may also take a while and I'm not saying he's the next JB.
We should see him and JD Davison in summer league. Yam Madar and Yuhann Begarin will not be coming over for that.

I don't think we're going to see him much, but I think he's a fine prospect. Maybe he can push the Hausers of the world but the real guy he has to push first is whoever is on the two way contract. Kabengele did nothing for us this year. Will they bring in Yam and Beguarin? Will they get a mid level guy? He's gotta work his way up.

I think the new CBA allows teams to have 3 two-way players from now on.
I haven't heard anything about whether Madar and/or Begarin will be invited to camp in the Fall. My guess is that they are both overseas for another year. Begarin doesn't seem to be making much progress with his shot. Yam seems more advanced, but unless we trade Brogdon and/or Pritchard, I don't see why we would bring him over now. I also don't know how long we can hold onto his rights without doing so.
I agree that we won't see much of Walsh right away. If he can improve his shot to the point where he can sit in the corner and knock down 3s, that might be enough to get him a promotion, but yeah, he's most likely Portland-bound at first.

I was wondering why he wore a hat during the introduction, then read online. Anyway, I thought he reminded me of Charlie V, who was one of my favorite NCAA players at UCONN. 5-star high school player, rated [HASH]1 in 2023 for two-way players. @38, this is the type of player to draft (low risk, high reward).

if he can develop an outside jumper he could be a real nice pick at 38. im guessing his ceiling is James Posey, and he was nothing to sneeze at.

I'm glad boston was able to lock him in for 4 years. Me too. Finding guys like this is going to be vital to our success with Tatum, Brown, KP costing so much. We need to keep finding useful inexpensive pieces - as Miami does.

I thought Walsh was one of the better rookies/players in SL. I thought his 1-year in college was misleading, because Arkansas had poor spacing.

Maine Celtics played their first game of the season last night (Fri Nov 10) and Walsh played well. He's way more advanced offensively than early reports were saying. I am glad he's somewhere where he can play and develop and I think there's a decent chance he winds up passing several guys on the Boston roster before the season ends. Between Brisset, Stevens, Banton, and Svi M (I'm not even going to try remembering how to spell his last name), we have lots of guys who are 6'7 -6'8 who are either shooters, or energy guys, but I haven't seen any evidence that any of them can be both. I think Walsh could be that guy. He shot 4-9 from 3, chipped in his usual steals and blocks, as well as 8 boards and 5 assists. I really like this guy. maine.gleague.nba.com/news/game-recap-111023
