I heard Brad on the radio yesterday and I left with the sense that we're going to run this back, maybe with some minor changes and additions to the coaching staff, but without any big player or head-coaching personnel moves.
Brad seems to think Joe M did a fine job in a tough situation, and that Joe is an extremely hard worker and good leader who is always looking to learn and improve. And he basically said the same thing about Jaylen. Brad added that those qualities are hard to find.
We'll see what happens if Portland comes knocking with the [HASH]3 pick and Scoot Henderson is available, but I don't think Brad will be actively shopping Brown or any of the Top 7 (JT, JB, Horford, Rob, Smart, White, Brogdon). I think he's more likely to tinker around the edges with deeper bench guys.
Part of me understands this, and part of me is sick of the same old **** and wants to shake this up.
(Oops, I initially wrote Scott instead of Scoot)

I got the impression Brad was political, however not correct. I think deep down, Ainge knows the team is flawed. It only took a streak shooting team to expose them. BOS offense is 3-point shooting, and 1 on 1.
If I had to speculate:
1. Grant will walk. Think he averaged 5 & 2 in the playoffs. $12m or more, for that? No way. 2. Pritchard likely traded. Value contract, however no value to BOS if he doesn't play. 3. One of Smart, Brogdon, or White will be traded. May not be this year, however will be when the new CBA becomes effective. The new CBA has a second tax apron, which is a team building stopper. Not about Wyc spending money, it is about having no options (ex: mid level exception, trading draft picks, etc). 4. I don't think Brown will be offered the super max. More likely the max. Either way, Mike Zarren will be key moving forward, because building a team where 2 players make the majority of the cap is going to difficult. 5. Coach Joe has almost no assistants left, hence will add a few. I expect one big name. 6. Hauser will make the rotation, because of [HASH]2, and [HASH]3.

I think Grant will be gone, but we have a right to match so we might be able to get something for him in a sign and trade. Yeah, too much money for the amount of playing time he got in the playoffs.
Pritch has been very clear, in a non-whiny way, that he wants to play more. I think they'll accommodate him.
God I hope it's Smart that's moved. I think we all have a love/hate relationship with him, but mine probably leans more toward hate than most. I also wonder how long his body will survive the way he plays. Larry probably shortened his career by several years playing that way. I'm hoping to see JD Davison at some point next season. I saw a fair amount of him last year and he brings something no other Celtic guard does - real speed and quickness - and he sees the court really well.
I'm getting the same vibe about Jaylen's contract. After the way he played in Game 7 (and it's not the first time he laid a big egg in a crucial game) I can't see them offering him the Super max either. The prospect of having two giant contracts is a good reason to consider moving Jaylen. Maybe Brad is just blowing smoke.
Joe will get to put together his own staff. I imagine most of what he had last year were holdovers from Ime who are now going to leave, so this is not a bad thing. I'd like to see a former NBA player and an experienced NBA Head Coach added along with whoever else he brings in.
I think guys like Hauser should get a lot of run. Home court advantage means less than ever in the playoffs, so we should use the season to develop guys so we can trust them when it matters.
I would like us to find one more quality big man. Al seemed to grow old over a two week span at the end there.

Al seemed to grow old over a two week span at the end there. Additional comments: 1. Smart is a zero sum player. For every good play, he makes an equally bad play. Also, with the change in officiating, his defense means a lot less. 2. Regular season awards are over-rated. Does anybody think Tatum is a top-5, even top-10 player? Brown, top-10, 20, even 30? 3. I read Bob Ryan asked if BOS ran any plays? Ironic, when I went to college in MA, I read the Boston Globe everyday and thought he was a miserable old man however after college, I realized he knew what he was talking about all along. 4. Al looked gassed; probably because of the scheduling (every other day play). RW3 didn't look right either; had no jump, and seemed to be lumbering up & down the floor.
