Anyone see West's assists #'s jumping with the loss of Ricky? Let's not forget Ricky was leading the team in assists. And we lost our 3rd pg in Banks. Who is going to pick up the slack in this area? I personally think it will be a team effort which will be good, meaning more ball movement and less dribbling and one guy handling the ball. But West's assists may take a good jump here. This may be the time we finally see what kind of pg West really is.

I think indirectly, Ricky was taking Delonte's thunder. IMO, to become a better team, we need the ball in Delonte's hands more often. Now, it doesn't mean it'll translate to a lot more assists from Delonte, because many of his passes don't directly lead to baskets. But when he's controlling the ball, the offense is not as stagnant as when Pierce or Ricky have the ball because when Delonte is moving around with the ball, the players know that they'll get a pass if they're open. And he uses picks more than the others, which should be a staple of ours since we have perimeter scorers and inside players.

I agree that we need to run the offense through the PG more and I do believe that Delonte will get more assists. He has responded and picked up his game in every area we need him and I expect him to respond to the need to handle the ball more and direct the offense and set up his teamates. Because Wally isn't as good at creating his own shot Delonte will have to step up more to create for his teamates which should result in more assists for him.
