Last night, I was rooting for PHI versus MIL. Why? A PHI win helps BOS in the NBA standings.

Oh totally. I like the NBA. I have a soft spot for the Jazz and Blazers, as well as the Wolves, since they're my home team. Usually I'll pull for franchises that have never won, or it's been ages since they won. I'd love to see Denver of PHX win a chip. Those fanbases have suffered for decades.

I don't think it will be happen, but it would be cool to see Brooklyn upset their first round opponent (obv unless it's Boston). I love when rebuilding teams refuse to roll over. Utah and Indiana have a bit of that in them this year.

No, but I have an hierarchy in my mind with some flexibility.
Like anyone playing against Kyrie
Anyone playing against Bon
Anyone playing against the Lakers
Anyone playing against the Bucks
The Kings
The Jazz
Anyone playing the Sixers
Teams that have never won a ring and/or teams from cities that haven't won rings.

I definitely have some teams I like and some I hate.
Teams I hate:
The Lakers will always be [HASH]1.
The Knicks for two reasons. First, I was surrounded by obnoxious Knick fans in college, when the Knicks last won at title. And second because Pat Riley coached them. Any team Riley coached or was the GM for is on the hate list.
The Heat. See above.
Teams with annoying coaches or players. For some reason Nick Nurse annoys me, so TOR is on the list right now.
Teams that go about team-building in a sleazy way. The Sixers will be on the list until Embiid leaves -even though I kinda like Embiid himself.
Teams I root for:
As others have mentioned, teams that haven't won, either ever or for a long time.
Teams that have players I love to watch. I'd put MEM at the top of this list because of Ja.
Teams that play the right way. GS for example.
Teams whose GMs I admire, ie OKC.
