Just found this from the Sac Bee:
ings nix deal after Artest balks By Martin McNeal and Sam Amick -- Bee Staff Writers Published 1:03 pm PST Tuesday, January 24, 2006 Get the latest news in sacbee.com's Kings Alert newsletter. Sign up here.
[Updated: 4:16 p.m., Jan. 24] Shortly after he agreed Tuesday morning to trade Peja Stojakovic to the Indiana Pacers for Ron Artest, Kings President Geoff Petrie received a telephone call from Artest's agent, who said his controversial star client did not want to come to Sacramento, according to sources close to the deal. The call from Artest's agent, Mark Stevens, apparently led Petrie to call the deal off with the Pacers, those sources said.
Officials with the National Basketball Association, which would have had to approve the trade, were still looking at the deal when Petrie received Stevens' call. Petrie did not return repeated phone calls from The Bee for comment.
Long-running trade rumors about a possible Stojakovic-Artest deal had intensified Tuesday when a New York Post report indicated that the Kings and Indiana were close to an agreement.
By late afternoon on the East Coast, ESPN's Jim Gray reports that the deal is done, pending league approval.
Not long before the ESPN report, Stevens told The Bee by phone that a deal was not close to being done, but that the teams had talked.
"As is stands, momentarily, there is nothing imminently being done with Sacramento on our part," Stevens said earlier Tuesday. "There have been flirts, with propositions. However, as of this moment, there's nothing imminent.
"I'm going to leave it that there have been flirts. Not a flirt, but flirts, with Sacramento. I'm leaving it open. There have been flirts with Sacramento. There have been recent, recent flirts."
At around 3:30 p.m. EST, Kings co-owners Joe and Gavin Maloof were interviewed live on ESPNEWS. When asked if they thought the troubled Artest needed a change of scenery, they didn't deny the trade, but said they couldn't discuss deals until they were done.
"Whatever the negatives were (in Artest's past), we're going to set them behind us," Joe Maloof said. "Put the negatives behind us, and go from there."
They said they are fans of Artest's style of play as well.
"I think he's a terrific player, one of the top players in the NBA," Joe Maloof said. "He's very passionate about the way he plays. He's tough minded. He's strong. He defends people. He's a wonderful athlete. He's a great player."

Wow, this opens up the door for a lot more things to happen. I think teams will get involved and try to get creative. Many players could be on the move, such as Al Harrington, Olowokandi, Blount, Peja, Artest, and many other players whose teams aren't happy with them, or are looking to move them because they're going to become free agents this summer. And in the thick of all this stands Ainge--he's trying to get rid of Blount and Banks (I see Justin Reed being involved too to make salaries work).

Artest should be fired and not allowed to seek employment in the NBA ever again. He is a disgrace.

Artest is a loser. Plain, and simple.

He'll be a king's uniform when its all said and done. Unless he attacks the kings Owner which wouldn't surprise me at all. Hopefully sooner than later so I can see him explode this friday! (i.e. in a bad way)

Artest is a loser. How many championships has he won? 0. He couldn't even finish a college degree. This Bud's for you.
