We've known since his rookie season that JT was good, and then really good, but I never really bought the talk about him winning the MVP anytime soon. Too many great players ahead of him. Last night changed my mind. It's been obvious over the earlier 12 games of this season that JT had continued to grow his game on both ends, but it was his taking things into his own hands with the team very short-handed (Rob, Al and JB all out) that changed my mind. I think if he continues to play like this and the team continues to win, he has a shot at MVP this year. Best player on the best team is the old saying, right?
Did you believe Tatum was a legit MVP candidate before this season? Do you now?

I thought Tatum would be a very, very good player. Say multiple time all-star, and a few time all-nba (like third team). Think Carmelo, or Pierce light. However, Tatum has exceeded those expectations.
As for MVP, I think we are seeing the rapid rise of Tatum, as well as the rapid decline of previous MVPs.

His development as a passer has been a huge part of his improvement. While we'll never mistake him for a Lebron or Giannis, he is becoming a good playmaker for a forward.

Also, I think if Tatum can eliminate more "clunker" games, where he he shoots 33% or less from the field, his chances increase dramatically for MVP.
