Danny is trading Rudy Gobert to Minny for several players and a boatload of picks.
"The Utah Jazz agreed to trade center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a blockbuster deal that will pair him with fellow All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Timberwolves will send Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro, No. 22 pick Walker Kessler and four first-round picks to the Jazz, sources said. Utah will acquire unprotected picks in 2023, 2025 and 2027 and a top-five-protected pick in 2029, sources said, in Danny Ainge's first franchise-altering deal since taking over as the Jazz's CEO midseason."
My first reaction was WTF is Minny thinking, pairing KAT with Gobert? But I saw Perk saying that KAT really prefers to play outside in, shooting a lot of 3s etc, and he thinks they'll pair well together. And in Anthony Edwards and they're an interesting team.
Meanwhile Ainge is tearing is down and building around Mitchell. Or maybe he's the next guy traded for a ton of picks?

Minny is certainly "special". Perplexes me and reminds me of the 09 Draft when they drafted Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio back to back at 5 & 6 (and still picked a PG at 18, Ty Lawson, they traded away with a much better career than Flynn). That was weird enough, but the next PG to get picked at 7? Steph Curry.
I can sort of respect them trying to do something different, and trying to get KAT/Edwards another all-star - but, I can't think of a worse all-star they could've paired with them in terms of fit. It might get them a better record in the regular season, but feel like they'll be exposed easily in the playoffs.

I stole this from realgm.com...Danny might be a HOF GM on (3) trades only! LOL.
I do not think Mitchell is the man either. Volume shooter, without the shimmy.

Minny was a good defensive team last season. They're trying to be even better this year. Won't be easy to score inside on them.
Danny loves his picks. But he has to bank that MIN's picks are going to be really good.

Well, Danny should have a bunch more late first round picks after trading Mitchell to Cleveland for three first round picks, this year's Cav's pick Agbaji, Sexton and Markkanen.
The Cavs should be pretty darn good for the foreseeable future, so Danny is going to have to find some hidden treasures picking in the 20s.

Danny is great at rebuilds. He saw that a team built around Mitchell/Gobert wasnt going to win anything, so why not blow it up when you can get such good value? They are loaded with high quality draft picks, and still have some decent vets and intriguing young guys. They trouble is if the coach can work some magic that team could still win 30-35 games, which would knock it out of top 5 worst team status.

I highly doubt either MIN/CLE turns out to be the next Brooklyn. With that said, I think the consensus was the team was tread milling. Will be interesting to watch, and see.
