Some information he shared
- has the ok from management to do what we have to do to win (of course that doesn't mean we can go out and trade or obtain through free agency every superstar we want)
- looking to use the TPE and MLE
- believes in some of the players who didn't get a chance to play (Nesmith? Hauser? Kornet?)
- we found our identity. Will look to bring in players who will fit in with this identity (I'm assuming this means smart and defensive minded players)
- said we were at our best when we played with pace. Need playmakers. Offense got stagnant in the Finals.

Thanks for posting this, DM, and good summation.
Listening to this, I get the impression that no major changes are in store. He said something along the lines of "we're not simply out to acquire talent, as much as we're looking for players that fit", and that "a player doesn't have to be able to do everything great to affect winning, they just have to be able to do a couple of things." (paraphrasing both) Brad also talked about a team's identity and chemistry (again, paraphrasing) being fragile things, and that you can't just bring anyone in. So I'm not expecting us to bring in superstars, or trade Jaylen or Smart. Sounds to me like Brad will be looking to improve this team on the margins.
The other thing that caught my ear was his reference to our slow start to the season, which, in the effort to win our way back into a good playoff spot, caused us to have to play a lot of minutes. I interpret that to mean that our starters were worn down AND that guys like Nesmith and Hauser didn't get the game time minutes they might otherwise have, and that now that we have our identity, we will presumably get off to a better start next season and allow for more player development as we go along.

The fragile part brought memories of Kyrie's disastrous time in BOS. Brad will not bring in players with toxic personalities.
We have a good team as is. That stretch of games in which demolished teams was not a fluke (but we need Rob healthy). Just need internal improvements and a couple of solid additions.

Basically, our defense is topshelf -- our offense needs playmakers, ball movement and pace.
Gotta think that the TPE and the MLE will be used to target guys who can play some defense but also are capable scorers.
In addition to that, I'm thinking Brad will target guys with height. We want a team with size at every position.

And by "playmaker" it sounded like he meant a guy who can take his man off the dribble late in the shot clock, more than a floor general per se.
I was on a Kyrie thread where they were talking about his demands to have a managerial role with the Nets, and I read a comment that made me laugh out loud: "trade him to Russia for Brittney Griner".

Right. A guy who can make plays, whether for himself or others, when he needs to.

Do you guys get the impression from Ime and Brad that they aren't happy with our starting 5? Any subtle implication that they want to try something different among the starters?
I don't.
I think we're just looking to strengthen the bench.

I mostly agree with that, but I also think they'd love to be able to put someone in at the end of games who can help when things get stagnant.

I thought this year the team made a lot of progress growing organically. However, the playbook needs to expand.

This is from tonight (after the draft).
They have a plan and are sticking to it.

Brad exudes calm and patience. He's not going to use the $17 mil TPE just because he can, without regard for our future cap flexibility.
