Here's a philosophical question....say you trade Jaylen and White for Durant. Are you more likely to win a ring in the next two years? How about Jaylen and Smart? I have serious doubts. And after 2 seasons I don't think you are at all.

And after 2 seasons I don't think you are at all. I think we have a better shot with Durant. Defenses cannot play us the same way if we have Durant and Tatum. Our shooters (who we have more of now) will get netter looks with Tatum and Durant. Tatum alone will benefit, as he will see more single coverages.

It occurs to me the Nets aren't acting like a team that wants to trade Durant. They have succeeded in making our guys a tad more stressed

But this is a scary trade on our part that could blow up in our face. Durant is old for an NBA player, and he's had some sort of leg injury in each of the past 3 years.

Ultimately I think Brad walks away from this one, but I don't blame him for finding out what the price for KD would be.

Two big issues:
Is Jaylen more likely to re-sign or leave in 2024?
Is Durant an injury timebomb?

You know Ainge would have NO problem. But with Brad, he's huge on relationships. Maybe his mind says make the deal, but his heart says no.

I don't think there is any reason beyond rank speculation to think that Jaylen wouldn't re-sign with us. He says he's happy. He will make more with us than anyone else. He's on a young talented team with years of contending in front of it. Unless he doesn't like the city of Boston, I think he'd stay.

Yeah now that we got to see that the J's can lead a team to success, i think he only would entertain leaving if A) he wants to be 'the man' somewhere or, B) he wants to be out west (he went to school in Cali and i think he considers that home).

He was only in Cali for a year and Cali is a dumpster fire now. I think he considers woke educated places his home. So I think he's a good fit in Boston, but could also be a good fit in a place like NYC.

I didn't know it ever was on the map. I don't think they've ever made the Finals. Not since they were in St Louis.
