Hello all. Congrats to the entire team for making it this far. As I've said before the turnaround this team has made from the beginning of the season to now has been remarkable. When we played ourselves into the [HASH]2 seed I based the success of this season on making it to the ECF and being one of the final four teams left to have a chance at the title. Lo & behold here we are w/a chance to win 4 games for the title. Based on what I've seen so far in this journey through the playoffs specifically the last two series I believe there are two keys/factors one good that will get us the title and one bad that will loose it for us. I apologize if what I'm saying is redundant based off of what's been written in threads so far being that I've as of yet haven't read any of them. I always like to end on a good note so I'll start w/the key factor that will loose us the series and I can't believe it but as unbelievable as it is but its true. We can't protect home court. I'm sooo glad we don't have home court this series again. Who ever heard of such for a Cs team that made it to the finals that they can't protect home court? I've been watching the team a long time & I can't remember a time when we made it this far going 7-2 on the road & 5-4 at home. In the series vs Mil & Mia we either had home court & gave it away or took it only to give it back 2xs in each series! If we can't win at home at a better clip there's a good chance we won't win the title. I don't know of a title team that won pretty much all road games to win the title. Having said equally countering our inability to protect home court is the key factor that I think will win us the title even more that our D is our resiliency.
Again in both series where our backs were against the wall having to win or go down 3-1 either on the road or home we've been able to pull out those wins practically all in going away style. If I'm not mistaken we've yet to loose back to back games. The ability to do this on the road in a hostile environment is especially unique. Even when Mil/Mia made a run at us we were able to steady the ship, right ourselves, & pull away. This quality is going to be especially needed in this series. I will say this though. It's great to be able to pull games/series out of the fire. It's another thing to not let them get in the fire to start with. IMHO that's the next step Tatum & the team for that matter have to take to become champions. Right now I would favor GS over us in 6-7, but I wouldn't say its a lock by any means. It sure does feel good though to have a chance to win the title. Enjoy...
