Some posters on another message board are supposedly listening to Danny on WEEI, and he was quoted as saying no deal. No announcement before or after the game.
Take it for what it is worth.

Well, according what he said in the Herald, he basically sounds as if nothing is in the works. But we all know that Ainge covers himself up to conceal his hand until the final minute.

I listened to Danny and what he said is that he hasn't made a deal and that he wouldn't be announcing one before tonight's game.
McHale isn't coming to the game tonight as far as he knows. He is listening to all the deals out there and making calls but so far none has been to his liking.
Doc has been trying to balance playing vets and youth. He thinks that a move will help Doc. He is looking to either move some vets so that Doc can concentrate on playing the kids or move some of the youth so Doc can concentrate on giving time to the ones he has left. He is looking at deals both to make the team better now or to free a roster space as well as provide flexibility. He isn't going to panic.
He thinks our defense is improving. Perk has been playing great this year. Al has had his ups and downs. Delonte is playing fantastic on both ends of the floor.
He thinks that Detroit is a good team to model after. They built with a little luck and a lot of patience. Prince was a late 1st pick around 23rd and took a couple years to come around. Chauncy took a couple years to develop. Ben wallace didn't become Ben Wallace till he got to Pistons. Rasheed was considered a trouble maker and cancer till he got to the Pistons. Danny helped Pistons get him bucause if he didn't he probably would have gone to NJ.
He also said that Green is off to a good start and that he looked a lot better in the second game than the first. He tried to take him to the Duke game but he was too tired.
They chatted about other things but he repeated that he hasn't made a trade and doesn't plan to announce one tonight.

Thanks for the great update on the interview flceltsfan.
This is a bit disappointing. I was really hoping that there would be a trade reported tonight.
Maybe something is brewing but he is not trying to reveal his hand like DM said.
Regardless, I really was hoping for a trade tonight. I am very glad that Danny will not panic, but I also think that at this point Blunt HAS to be traded due to all of the reports. I think he realizes we are trying to get rid of him, and he will do his usual pouting, etc. etc.
Like I said, I admire Danny's patience , but I just hope that he doesn't wait too long until teams come to their senses and take their offers off the table.
I was hoping for the Minny deal or the Cleveland deal, but more for the Minny deal.
Also, how well do you guys think Blunt will play tonight.
Will he kill the deal if he shows them that he is a turnover machine and can't rebound? ;D

I'm sure that the trade will be one of the options we've already covered.

I wouldn't necessarily believe Danny either. Just before trading Toine the first time he swore he wasn't looking to trade him which prompted the Snake comment from Toine. The day before the Antoine trade last year he was saying the same thing. No trades set yet..... listening to offers ... offers on the table. I think he wouldn't tip his hand even if there was one already agreed to. The fact that the Wolves doc who very rarely travels is coming to Boston tonight says more than Danny's denials. I think he is trying to get the best deal possible and so is setting up a smoke screen. There is something brewing .... he just isn't ready to make it public yet.

THeir's definitely something brewing. Remember the trading deadline is still some 4 weeks away, and just like a few have suggested danny wont show his cards that quickly. The latest rumore on hoopshype.com is blount and marcus banks for drew gooden and damon jones. I love gooden but jones now way, the guy is a one trick pony. In addition he just signed a 4yr/16 million dollar contract with the cavs. If an expiring contract is all we can get for blount than so be it. The season is a waste anyways and were headed for the lottery. If our young guys can continue to develop perk& big al especially id be thrilled. We need to develop some inside force offensively. I'm tired of wacthing our big guys like blount and raef shoot perimeter jumpers. We need to get tougher on the blocks.

I wouldn't mind the Cleveland trade. I think Drew Gooden would be a terrific backup for Big Al. He'd be a 25 mpg guy, getting some time for Perk and Big Al. Gooden is a good offensive player who is a fairly solid rebounder (much better than Blount).
I also don't really care for Damon Jones (a former Celtic). Hopefully there's something in the works to move him if we get him from Cleveland.

At the beginning of the game tonight they talked about exactly that, saying why would the C's be in a rush to make a deal when the trade deadline is 3 weeks away? They mainly talked about potentially Pierce for Szerbiak as a rumor. I highly doubt, if it were real, either Gorman or Tommy would be discussing it. But it does lead to my big trade theories that there might be an Artest to Minny, Pierce to Indy, Szerbiak to boston trade in the works.. Ainge, Mchale, Bird working on something big?

Pierce for Szerbiak was written off as a bad internet messageboard rumor. That makes no sense. I like Pierce for Trent Hassell though

I wouldn't say it makes no sense. It has very little chance of happening. But Szerbiak can play, is a good defender, hardnosed, efficient player. Averages 20 a game. Plus he is signed longer than Pierce and may be easier to re-sign down the road.
