LaFrentz has had a terrible year. He is supposed to provide stability in the front line. Shot blocking, rebounding, defense, and scoring are what centers do. Instead he has become a foul prone slug out there. If we got his normal production of 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1.2 blocks in 28 minutes, I think we would be near .500.
Are Raef's problems based on coaching decisions or Raef just cannot play anymore? Are there knee problems we don't know about? He is just a slug out there.
Would he have the class to retire and not exercise his two years 23 million dollar option - in 08 and 09? Ainge just gives him a "desk" job pidgeonholed in the organization.
Or would he benefit more by not having Blount here, get his productivity up and become marketable?

Raef never was good. Except once for a week. He needs his knee examined on a weekly basis but if he passed up $23 mill he'd need his head examined too

W/ his contract, I expect 25-10-3. Denver made the first mistake, then Cuban, and we compounded it.

We were idiotic to take that contract. But the other parts were nice. Allen and West.

Actually the title of this board is kinda funny. Raef's productivity? What productivity? he's productive in standing there and letting guys go by him. Probably productive at cashing checks. But not in basketball unless they mean missing shots.

Used correctly, Raef can be a productive player. He needs plays ran for him. He's not just a three point shooter. He can also pick and pop, roll to the basket, score from under the basket, and hit midrange jumpers. But he needs to be used in that fashion, and not just as a statue who parks outside the arc, waiting for a kickout pass.
Unfortunately, Doc doesn't run that many plays, and the ones he does run only involves Pierce, and sometimes Ricky.

If only Doc wouldn't play RD/P2 40 minutes a game?

Yeah, that, and also running plays more frequently. Sometimes, the players get lost, and that's when Doc needs to call plays. Use Raef's strengths, use Delonte's strengths, etc.

Id take 11/7/1.5 at least. Hopefully he can settle in to a nice little backup role behind Perk and Al.

I still think Raef needs to work harder and improve his game and fit in with the new team. I think at this point he has slipped into being the 4th big man behind 1. Perk, 1A. Jeff, and 3. Scal. Blount will be traded so Raef can pick up 20 minutes a night. If he can get 8 points, 5 rebs, a blocked shot, and 2 assists while the Celtics hold ground in 20 minutes that would be acceptable.
