Our starting 5 is set and looks pretty darn good.
The bench?
Well, I have confidence in Theis and DW. And my confidence is growing in Grant Williams.
I want to believe that Nesmith and Pritch are ready to consistently contribute in the playoffs, but I'm not so confident yet (more confident in Pritch than Nesmith).
Would be real nice to have a proven veteran wing who can come in for 10-12 minutes and hold down the action.

I don't have confidence in Nesmith this year. It seems like he's rushing everything and playing borderline out-of-control. He has a quick release and I think he's going to wind up being a good shooter, but he's not there yet. Maybe, if he gets regular playing time, he'll calm down and play up to his potential, but I wouldn't count on it this year.
Pritch showed last year that he can play, and I think the new style, which is more dependent on ball and player movement than on individual play-making, suits him better.
But I think it's going to be the 8 man rotation you describe.

Same here, Nesmith flashes here and there, and gives you hope he can be something once the game slows down for him.
Maybe not this season, but from next Nesmith might hold his own.
Pritch just has to find his role and niche. His shooting is fine.

We know that the starting five can take us far.
The bench could possibly make or break us.
If the bench unit of Theis, Grant, DW, Pritch, and at least one of Nesmith, Staus, Matt Ryan or Hauser can hold their own, we have a legit shot at the title this year.

I was hoping Stauskas could come in and do a good peak Steve Kerr impression, but I'm getting less optimistic about that. I think Nesmith is a bust.

I think the number one thing to tackle this summer is the team's depth. We need to use the big al contract as trade ballast to add a player or two that can help over the next few years.

I would settle for an aged Sean Elliot impersonation, but Kerr is fine too 😊 I'm not ready to call Nesmith a bust, but I'm losing confidence drip by drip. His one calling card is his shooting, and it's still MIA.

He needs to play regularly and get the nerves out, but it may not be possible this year. I expect to see him play summer league again. The kid plays hard - almost too hard - and is adequate defensively and on the boards. He has the quickest release on the team and showed in the second half of last year he can shoot. But for whatever reason he's lost confidence and is off this year. We need look no further than Grant to find a guy who couldn't shoot at all for a time and now is one of the better shooters we have.

I like the improvements I'm seeing from the bench.
GWill and Pritch have been rock solid lately (hope this is the norm and not just a hot streak).
Theis and DWhite are cagey veterans.
That's a good 9 man rotation we have.
