C'mon, Coach, why do you have to tease us like that. If we don't win the title this year, you can be sure next year the team will have lazer-precision focus from opening day and massacre every team coming between them and the championship. Does it make you wish we took a bigger swing in FA? Not necessarily giving up anyone but perhaps getting another crucial vet for the stretch run in the playoffs?

Like a vet in the mold of Iguodala.

Yesterday's game, with its fluid, organic and precise passing looked awfully like the Warriors from a few years ago.
Is this where our offense is heading?

BOS fans think the defense is great. But you know it's true when opposing teams, after getting humiliated, say they have no clue how to play against it.

I saw an interesting piece about Mike Gorman today, where he was quoted as saying that until 3 months ago he was thinking that he'd retire from doing Celtics games soon, largely because the team just wasn't playing the right way and it wasn't fun to watch - but that now he sees himself wanting to stick around 2-3 more seasons. Different team indeed.

That is great to hear.

Consider me concerned. Without Rob we don't seem dominant.
Tonight, we couldn't shake off the Pacers. The Jays scored 30+ each, bench scored 26, but the Pacers shot over 50% which kept them on our tail.

Rob is a heckuva player, so I'm not surprised we aren't as dominant. That said, we were playing at a ridiculously high level for a really long time, and a little letdown is probably normal.

Just saw this
Ball sharing has improved big time. 34 dimes tonight, and it's just another ho-hum total (wake me up when they get 50 assists).
Our defense is our calling card, but we've become a big scoring threat too.

And we did this even after a shaky couple of months!

Rob is a heckuva player, so I'm not surprised we aren't as dominant. That said, we were playing at a ridiculously high level for a really long time, and a little letdown is probably normal. Heard Sean Grande say on a podcast that this season was divided into 3 parts. Our mediocre start to the season. Then our transition to a historically great team (he said we had a 50 game stretch in which statistically we were not only the best team in our division, or the conference, or even the NBA, but were among the greatest ever). And then our season after Rob Williams' injury. When Rob torn his memiscus, we went from a historically great team to a very good team -- and he says you can see it in the numbers. That team we were before Rob went down, we were dominating teams and winning games by a greater differential than even our 2008 championship team. After he went down, we were still good, but not great. A healthy Rob Williams is a game changer. A healthy Rob Williams shuts down the paint and closes out on shooters. A healthy Rob Williams would not let Andrew Wiggins look like a stud, and would not let Steph get those layups inside. We need Rob healthy. In 2019 he played in 32 games (8 minutes per). In 2020 he played in 29 (13 minutes per). 2021, 52 (18 per). This year, 61 and nearly 30 minutes per.
