Will Terrence be a Celtic? will Donta DiVencenzo? Will Schroder not be a Celtic anymore?
Will there be a surprise trade that Brad pulls out? Will we do nothing at all?
All of these are possible. And we'll find out in the next 4.5 hours (3Pm EST) which it is.

Asking price for Schroder is a young player and a 2nd round pick.

That seems like a reasonable ask. Schroder seems like the most likely rotation player to be traded. I don't expect anything earth-shaking with the rest of the roster, but I wouldn't be shocked either.
One thing Brad has said is that everything he does is towards the goal of the next championship. To me that means he's willing to break up a team that is playing well if he feels it has a ceiling that is short of a title.

with the trade for White I cant imagine both schroeder and smart will still be here after the trade deadline.

I think the current market will value Smart higher and give us a better return. Schroeder is a 1 year deal and won't get us much.
Does White slot in as our starting PG?

Schroder traded to Houston along with Kanter and Fernando. Daniel Theis is headed back to Boston.
Schroder, Kanter and Fernando all have expiring contracts, while Theis is signed for another three years, as is Derrick White.
Sorry to see Romeo go. I still think he has potential. With the two big trades and moving Bol and Dozier, Brad created a ton of roster space.
There should be an opportunity for someone to step up and claim minutes, whether it's Nesmith or Pritch.

I know they plan on staying under the tax this year. i wonder if we have room financially to pick up a vet that's cut without going over the tax line?

I do wish we could've gotten a pick for Schroeder, but I do like getting Theis back. I always thought he was underrated. He's a perfectly capable big for today's NBA.
Random thought. As long as Embiid keeps playing at this level. All playoff teams are gonna need a big with size to help combat him in the playoffs. Im hoping boston can get someone like Robin Lopez this off-season.

I think these moves -- cut off a lot of excess (Bol, Dozier, Bruno, Enes), and players who weren't in our long term plans (Schroder, Richardson).
We get a young and versatile player who easily replaces Romeo, and we get back a very capable backup Center who Brad didn't want to get rid of in the first place.
The onus is now on Pritch and Nesmith to optimize their playing time. We'll need them to contribute.

Yeah Embiid, Giannis, Jokic, Ayton, Gobert.. You're not winning a title without finding a counter for the league's big men.

What's funny is all the new players Brad went out and signed in the summer (Juancho, Richardson, Schroder, Kanter) have been traded. Maybe free agents will think twice about signing with us.
And then we see Brad doing the retread thing by bringing back his former players (Theis, Horford).

Theis was good in spurts but his height got him dominated in the playoffs. RWill coming along will help that.

Ainge must have made many moves and drafted many players that Brad didn't agree with. I think Brad did like Theis and didn't want him traded in the first place too.

Thinking about this past trade deadline, we made ALOT of moves with the Spurs.
Udoka was part of the Spurs coaching staff.
I suspect Udoka helped Brad decide who to target AND understood who the Spurs liked from our roster. Udoka likely had a strong familiarity with White and knew he could quickly pick up and run the system so this move starts to make alot more sense. With White helping direct the offense, he could finally bring more of the Spurs playstyle to the Celtics.

Not only Udoka, but Tatum, Jaylen and Smart knew DW from Team USA. And Brad scouted DW from his college days.
Everyone was unanimous that not only is DW a good player, but that he will be a good lockerroom fit as well.
