Boy, it sure looks like Memphis lucked out when New Orleans selected Zion over Ja in the 2019 draft.
I was always concerned about the amount of weight Zion was carrying, thinking it was likely to cause issues with his legs, and so far it looks like my concerns were warranted. He's only played 85 games in 2 1/2 seasons and who knows when he'll be back.
Meanwhile, Ja is looking like the latest NBA superstar. He's super fun to watch, and I think Memphis is a team to watch in the playoffs.

I was less concerned about Zion because I thought teams were smarter by now..apparently not.
How they never strictly enforced a training and dieting regime with him is beyond me. Yes, it is also on Zion to make changes on his own...but ultimately the team is the one paying his salary and if you're investing millions in a valuable asset, you would think you take way more care.
That said, Ja also scared me slightly. His playstyle is reminiscent of prime D-Rose. We saw where that landed him after his knees took one too many explosive dunks.

It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for Zion. I still hold out hope that he becomes something special. Besides his explosiveness, his ball-handling and playmaking skills are pretty amazing too. dude is an incredible talent, and seems to be a pretty good dude. Ja is dang fun to watch. I'd love for him to play for the Celtics.

I agree, Zion has special talent. Leaving the explosiveness aside, the guy is super crafty and powerful.
