We all know this kid's injury history, going back to his lone college season at Indiana. Since we drafted him he's been an injury time bomb. And the latest one is a possible injury to his achilles.
But don't give up on Romeo. He may never turn out to be an All-Star, but a key starter is not out of the realm of possibility.
Just look at Rob Williams -- he was always injured too, and we had no idea if he would amount to anything because he never gave us a chance to see what he could do cause he was always on the shelf. But look at him now!
And Dejounte Murray is another example. He hasn't been injury plagued, but it's taken a while for his development to catch up to his potential. But look at him now.
Romeo, as long as injuries don't derail his career, has a chance to be a good player. We've seen glimpses of it already, both on offense and defense. And his reworked jumper is still a work in progress, but it is coming along.

I wish we could see what he could do with regular minutes, say 20 per game. He's either been injured or buried on the depth chart. One benefit of some house cleaning would be to get him and Nesmith more playing time. It's time to admit that we're not contending this year and see what we have in some of these guys.

Let the kids play, let the Jays lead, and if we miss the playoffs, we can grab a lottery talent player. But we're going to have to let Grant, Romeo, Nesmith, Pritch and Hauser sink or swim to know if they're long term players (and I think they all are keepers -- Grant is playing well in his role this year).

I agree he could be what we need. I don't see making any moves right this second. If we end up in the lottery so be it. If we win this year so be it. I see us like the Bengals right now like I said. Tatum is Joe Burrow, Marcus is Mixon, Jaylen is Higgins. Horford and williams are our defense. OUr bench are our bench and special teams. We are basically missing Jamychael Green as it stands. Could Langford be that? Maybe. Might we have to make a trade somewhere so we can add a couple more pieces? Maybe. But it has to equal something good in some round about way. I don't see the rush really. Shroder and Horford have some questions. But most of our players are signed long term and we have time.
I'd rather see this team improve game to game. Draft position is overrated somewhat too if you are a good drafter. Let Memphis go in the tank. There is no reason to give up on this season as of yet. If it happens it happens. We improve our odds for next year either way.
We are sitting around 500 and that's how i feel about this team really. We can go either way. The Bengals were around that last season. They are in the superbowl this year. How they even got Jamychael Green. Was it even their pick?
And I'm Romeo Langford and no one agrees with me and I'm not wrong either.

Jrich is a nice 4th wide receiver and veteran. We are missing a couple guys as it stands. Romeo could be that for all we know right now. Or a 3rd WR. We could upgrade or basically replace Smart and get a couple guys that way. But I think Smart for the most part is fine. We need a couple guys as it stands. The only reason people want to trade Marcus is because he is the easiest to replace supposedly. I'm not fully buying that at this point. If Marcus plays the right way he's key to our success. So is Schroder. He's basically Lagarette Blount right now. He plays in spurts. . He needs to be more consistant. Schroder needs to be our James White.
We play so much better period when we play defense and rebound and move the ball. When Horford and Williams and SMart are moving the ball. When Shroder is using his speed to attack the rim. It opens up things for Tatum and Brown to do more. We are still missing another scorer yes. Romeo could help that. One of our picks whether it's the memphis pick or ours could help that.
I'm in no rush to trade any of these guys. The internet is the polar opposite.

I've always been this way. Whether it's basketball or football or baseball or whatever. It's not even about the analogy. I more see basketball and I like watching development. I'm on the internet telling people the KC Royals are going to be good in a bit and people think I'm crazy too and I'm not wrong there either. They have to spend money and make the right moves yes. Romeo can be a good player. His upside is somewhat capped right now because of his injuries and his shooting is struggling. Marcus has glass in his hand and the irony there too.
I'm not huge on romeo but I see the potential there. His upside may always be capped so don't get ahead of yourselves. He's probably at best a good 3rd wide receiver. I think Jamychael Green is somewhat overvalued though. He's a luxury on that team. Does he help take the focus off other players and extremely talented and a [HASH]1 receiver and their most talented one. Sure. Is he the end all be all. No. Does he make a difference and make them a superbowl team vs a middling team somewhat. Sure.
I don't think Romeo's upside is that. I think Romeo is more an added piece that can be a nice fit in the rotation if he plays well. I feel the same about Nesmith really but Nesmith is more a shooter. Both players are sort of gimped right now and bring different things. If I could trade both and a 1st round pick or a couple first round picks to move up and draft Jamychael Green I probably would. That's not undermining these guys either. But a sure thing is a sure thing.
IE Bradley Beal. If I could move Horford's contract plus Romeo, Nesmith and a couple firsts for Beal I would do that probably but there are issues there. We are still without a power foward. Let Schroder and Pritchard fight it out for that James White role. Then we are talking about potentially moving Smart, Shroder and other pieces for a PF. Or Jaylen. And finding a pg somewhere else. We'd have pritchard. We'd get one back somehow or draft one.
