Only players I like in this rumor are Artest and Flip Murray. If Murray is trained to play in a team system, he could be really impactful. He's got a Bobby Jackson-type game.

Lots of rumors going around. It is hard to tell the good ones from the ones with no foundation. The only trades I like are Blount for anyone.....

Whats consistent in most rumors is Blount's name. I really hope he's gone before the season is over. His only value is his improved scoring, but his lack of rebounding, his lack of basketball smarts, and his awful hands make him a bigger liablitiy on the court than a positive factor.

And the way he takes minutes from real the real center on the team. of course I am referring to Perk. The second best center would be Al J. The third best would be Scala. The fourth best would be Reed. The next best would be Gomes. The next best would be PP. The next best would be Delonte. Then it's a tough call between Raef and that guy at the gym in New jersey I knew who was about 65, but was a really good outside shooter since they both do the same thing. For the money I'd rather have the old guy actually.

I think I know the guy--name is Smitty, right? Is he still wearing those high blue and red stiped socks and wristbands on both hands?

I like the rumor w/ Odum. He is a great player.

We don't need Flip. Another 2 guard? He is not a point guard. We have Tony Allen already. It wouldn't make sense other than shedding salary and receiving an expiring contract in return.
The deal out there that to me seems the most likely and logical to happen is the Lo Wright for Blunt or some variation.
Remember though guys, this isn't the same Wright as 4 years ago, and he had a really weird incident happen to him in the offsesason where he supposedly held a gun to his wife/girlfriend...don't know how that turned out for him.
He wouldn't be able to score down low as "well" as Blunt, but he can board, defend, and he knows how to hold on to the ball at the end of the game so as to not get it stolen and lose the game for you, so that's good.

I'm not a fan of Wright, but I'd trade Blount for him just to get rid of Blount, and get ourselves an expiring contract.
RR, what rumor is out there regarding Odom? He's a guy I'd like to have (much the same reason why I want Charlie Villanueva on the team--he gives us a long, tall, athletic, and versatile SF who can cause mismatches).

I'm not a huge fan of Wright either; obviously he would be an expiring contract that would be out of the way at the end of the season. Might give us some decent rebounding in the meantime. This move, IMO would be similar to the decision not to bring Payton back -- that decision forced Doc to give the reins to West; a trade of Blount for Wright would force the reins at center into Perkins' hand (and more minutes off the bench for Jefferson and Scal).

Derren, I think I read on hoopshype.com a rumor that said Odum would be part of a 3-4 team deal. Then again, I also read several quotes that squashed that Odum was going no where.

About a month ago, I read that Odom and Kobe had an encounter in practice. Now, if this is true or not, I really don't know. But with Kobe, there's always that possibility.
The thing about Odom that I don't like is his contract. Its pretty massive.

I really like the Blount for Wright deal. We may have to throw in a pick or Banks to make it work but that gets rid of Blount and it also clears up more minutes for Perk and Al which we have to do or next year will be the same as this one.... development and not knowing what we have. We need to get those guys minutes or they will never develop. They can practice all they want but they can only learn and grow while playing in games.
