Confirming a Washington report, the Grizzlies indeed are trying to acquire Chucky Atkins from the Wizards with a $4.4M trade exception. Contrary to that same report, the Knicks have expressed no desire to obtain the deadly long-distance shooter. Sources say the Grizzlies also are pressing the Celtics for Mark Blount. Boston wants Lorenzen Wright's expiring contract, not Brian Cardinal's four-year, $26.5 obligation past this season. Grizzlies PRESSING for Blount? Give him to them already!!!!! I know Vescey comes up with some bizarre things but he did break the Toine trade last year before it happened so he does have some good sources. We don't need Cardinal's 4 year contract. He is way worse than Blount even as he is averaging 3 points and .4 rebounds. Although he is white and Danny has an affinity for under achieving white guys. Wright is averaging almost 6 rebounds per game and just over 1 TO per game. He would be a nice pick up with an expiring contract. Would LOVE to see this one happen. Wright would be an upgrade over Blount and would also be an expiring contract at the end of the year.

If I'm the Grizzlies, I'd trade Wright for Blount. Lorenzen is a free agent and they can re-sign him if they want after the season ends, and this way, they can get Blount (whom I hope they want) and get Lorenzen back next season. We don't necessarily want Wright, aside from his expiring contract.

if that trade were to happen, then we traded Raef/banks for Wally Szczerbiak/ebi, .....new line-up Pg-West,Greene Sg Wally,Allen sf Pierce,gomes Pf Jefferson,ebi, C Perkins,Wright or Raef/banks for Theo Ratliff Pg-West,Greene Sg Allen,green sf Pierce,gomes Pf Jefferson,Theo C Perkins,Wright...
Sorry to come up with wild trades but the thought of going to my next C's game(I go twicw a month I live in Brookline) and not have to see Raef and Blount.......it is like a master card commercial.....priceless........

The issue w/ Blount is the fact he is starting/or playing mega minutes at the "c" position. Blount is back-up player, no more-no less.

The Wolves would have to be smoking meth to trade wally for Raef. No matter how big of a whiner Wally is, at least he isnt completely worthless, a la Raef.

I agree, that would be nearly impossible--unless we are talking about a person with split personalities, which in that case, we should be going after the better player ;D
