I like our Star Wings (Tatum and Jaylen) and I like our Young Wings (Nesmith and Romeo). But the young wings are at least another year away from being playoff-reliable players.
To buy them time to grow into that level, we brought in Josh Richardson, a solid veteran. But I would feel more comfortable if we had one more solid vet who we can slide in this year.
Is Jabari Parker that guy? Or should we look for someone better?

Isn't our roster way too full already? I read that we need to start shedding players to keep to the roster limit. I'm not sure if there is still room for Parker.
Parker looks good in spurts but at this stage, I'd rather give his minutes to the rookies as I don't think we're contending this year.

No, we're not contendind this season, but I think we're in the mix for the 5-8th seed. We're going to need to clear space. Might as well move Carsen sooner or later. Dunn doesn't seem like he'll last the summer before getting shipped out.

Romeo doesn't look NBA capable either. I don't see him here past this season Likely as a throw in in a trade for someone who will contribute with "not so" Smart.

Put me in with those who'd rather give the playing time to Nesmith and Romeo. It's important to their development that they play in games. I also would not assume that they can't be playoff contributors if they play all season.

I see no future for Jabari with us. Maybe a 10 day contract here and there.

Jabari is under contract for just under 2.3 million this year and then he's a FA next summer.
He does have some skills that are otherwise lacking on our roster. I see him as a useful bench scorer this year if he isn't traded.

Jabari made the cut and he's a real wildcard.
If the lightbulb goes off and he finally understands the nuances of the game, he has a chance to revitalize his career. He's got size and he's deceptively slithery, which often gets him in good position to get off a good shot. He looks like he can do it all the time, but for some odd reason, he doesn't optimize his ability.

I'd love to see him take a role with us similar to what Antoine Carr did for the Jazz. Offensive weapon off the bench in limited minutes.

Problem is that he is always an injury risk aside from just his failings to understand proper defensive sets.. He is abit like Kanter. Great for points in short spurts and you do need guys like that.

Jabari was waived afterall.
I think overall he wasn't consistent enough. Sure some games he might chip in with 15 pts off the bench. But he'd be invisible in others. Plus his defense isn't up to par.

Might also be a luxury tax move to get us under so that we can go over again when we are ready to compete.

My guess is that it was a courtesy move to let him try to hook on somewhere that he might get more of a chance to play.

Here's to hoping Jabari resurrects his career.
Learn to play some defense young man! You'll add more value to the team.
