He's cheap, and it's ok to have some guys who are deep, deep, bench players just to fill out the roster - guys who can be the 10th player in a scrimmage when the rotation guys are hurt or need a day off.
I think when we drafted him the hope was that he'd be a Vinny Johnson type, but he never showed any consistency.

I don't know how much it would cost, but I'd take Dennis Smith Jr. over Carsen Edwards if we're talking about a deep bench player (he was just cut by the Pistons).

I'm with you on Nesmith. I don't ever see him being a big-time one-on-one iso machine, but he's def got a chance of being a premium 3-D wing. Picture prime are Avery Bradley, with less D but more 3.
As for Carson, he's on the team cuz his contract is guaranteed this year. Credit his agent lol.

Sounds like Udoka may have told the coaching staff to stress this:
Hoping this is just a taste of what we can see with the parent club!

Yeah, I noticed we had 3 guys who had 7 or more assists in the last game, including both rookies.
The other thing that was noticeable was someone on the bench yelling at the PGs to push the ball up the court quickly. We've seen WAY too much of guys walking the ball up in recent years.
I think Nesmith is more than a 3 and D guy. He has a mid-range game and a driving game. Once the outside shooting is established as a consistent threat it'll open up drives for him. On another note, he seems to be one of those guys who shoots better the less time he has to think about it. Not sure what that means though.

I think when he shoots it immediately, he's in better rhythm.
