Is it your estimation that Brad plans to bring back Fournier? After the Josh Richardson trade I say no. At the very least this can't happen and won't Tatum Jaylen Nesmith Romeo Josh R French rookie Fournier Smart (Horford) Pritchard Beal and even if you took Beal off that list the rest of the total list still can't happen. The rookie is easily solved by leaving him in France for a year. But the rest of the list still can't happen. Way too big a log jam. If Romeo and Nesmith just sit the bench they lose all trade value. I think he's being told to stay under the cap unless he can get a guy like Beal. I expect more moves. To me, I would think a sign and trade for Beal is going to make sense here. So the team ends up like Starters Tatum Jalylen Beal Pritchard Moses Bench cheap guys and who cares because that's one of the best teams in the NBA

I like Fournier. And I think the Celtics do too. But they also like Romeo and Nesmith, and just traded for Richardson, and there's only so much playing time to divvy up if you want people to develop.
I think the most likely scenario is Fournier is signed and traded. We're still heavy on guards and small forwards and could use a PF type.

My guess is it depends if we are in compete mode, or still develop the young guys mode.
If the goal is to get as far as we can this year (even if we ultimately fall short of reaching the Finals, or even the conference semis), then I think we get Fournier, and Beal if he becomes available -- which means we sacrifice a bunch of our youth. We'll surround Tatum and Brown with veterans.
But if Brad believes in these young ones panning out (Rob, Grant, Nesmith, Romeo, Pritch, Moses, Yam, Bergarin, Hauser), then obviously we are not going to be as good as we can be until they develop.
Or we pick the middle road, cut our ties with some of the youth, bring in additional veteran pieces, and see how far the ship sails.

Ah, forget Fournier. His signing will not put us over the top anyways. Sure he would have been nice, but would he he happy with taking less money and being a bench player?
Let other teams overbid for him. Moving on Brad.

Yeah Fournier looks to be gone and I think it was a wise move to avoid tying down our capspace to him. On this team, he is your 3rd best scoring option...and if HE is your 3rd best, then thats not a championship team. I'm not talking solely about his points per game..but its also how streaky and how he gets those points. I'm not sure I could count on that showing up in the playoffs consistently.
