How does Nigeria and Australia beat a USA team full of All-NBA and All-Star players when those teams have nothing but NBA role players and players who wouldn't make an NBA roster?
By having team chemistry.
This is not to be underplayed. Players knowing their system, knowing each other's tendencies, knowing their niches and roles plays a huge part in their team's success.
That's what this Celtics team is going to need going forward. Maybe with Danny gone, we'll finally settle down and players can develop great team chemistry.

I agree 100%. Chemistry is very important. I've always said that Team USA should have more continuity instead of throwing together a different team every time. I'd love to see the Celtics develop some strong chemistry this season. I'm hoping that Brad doesn't overhaul the team.
Last season was a product of the team never being able to develop that chemistry. The top 7 players never played together even one game. The top 5 players had 7 games together and were 6 and 1 in those games. There were just too many injuries and health and safety protocols. And when the guys who had covid (Tatum, Fournier, Rob, Romeo, Thompson, and Smart) did come back, it took them awhile to get back to 100%. Tatum had trouble breathing for a month or so after and was using an inhaler on the bench. Fournier had concussion like symptoms for weeks. They could never get any continuity or chemistry.
What they need more than anything is to be healthy this season. Hopefully most of the same guys will be back and there won't be a big turnover so that they have to get used to all new teammates. I like bringing Horford back. He will be good to hold them accountable, will be a strong voice in the locker room and will be a glue guy. Maybe a tweak here and there to the roster, bring back Fournier and go with the same core group.

Amen. Intereting things you shared.
I don't think Brad will be like Trader Danny. We're probably going to see less roster shuffling after the initial changes to get out the players who don't fit and bring in those who do.
That's why, going forward, it's so important to bring in players who'll work well with Tatum and Brown, and in Udoka's system, and then let the team bond together and form that chemistry.
It is so unfortunate that Horford isn't 5 years younger.

Speaking of Australia, if Patty Mills keeps playing the way he does in the Olympics, should we give him a look?? Udoka would know him from his Spurs days and he has shown himself to be capable as a starter in short spurts (though better off the bench).

No. I was thinking of the mid-level unless there was someone better out there we could use it on. We'll have to see how the FA market plays out.
