Hello everyone. Seems a lot has changed since the last time I posted. New Gm, coach, & players. Not surprised DA stepped down. His past health issues and the type of job he's in made sense. Big thanks to him for what in my opinion was a good & KG and Perk injuries away from a great job. As for the coach I'll admit I'm not as excited as the players & others about this coach as I was Brad. But I'll wait to make any type of judgement until he develops a track record. However, Scal and others' pushing for a female coach is part of the PC/Wokeness of the league that has driven one time die hard fans like myself to the very outskirts of the league, but that's another story. I'm not as big a fan as giving up our 1st in the Kemba/Horford trade as some of you though. Speaking of trades I posted in the 1st pt of this thread that I was in favor of trading JB for the [HASH]2 pk in the draft. Cornbread had also proposed trading JB at the time and I recently saw that Mannix (I think) also proposed trading him as well though not for the [HASH]2pk. Now I've read a few of the threads here about other players either by FA or trade(Lillard & CJ, Mitchell, Simmons (who I want no parts of), etc.) & saw a few interesting things. DMatts' had a good post that Por will never win a title w/Dam & CJ is absolutely correct. In my opinion the same can be said here w/JB & Tatum which is why I suggested trading JB. Someone also said that w/o a big in the middle it's an uphill climb in the East which I also agree with and would take the Mobley kid from USC w/the 2nd pick. W/him, RWIII, JT, in the front court & Al, Theis, & mabye Tristan, Moses, etc to back up. W/o Kemba & Brown you're going to have some financial flexibility for FAs/trades though I don't know what Al's contract looks like but still...
JMost had also had good post about Aytons's [HASH]s w/Phx in one of the finals gms which is exactly the type of player we'd need and this kid Mobley could possibly fill. That pk we dealt in the Kemba trade could've been used in that deal or to close the gap of the JB trade either by using the pick or dealing in another trade as far as I'm concerned. All the moves I read in my opinion could make the team better but w/o a guy in the middle which comes nowadays only so often we'd end up falling that much short more times than not...

Hey, MG!
Yeah, I would have liked that 16th pick, and I would love to be able to somehow move up to get Evan Mobley. But trading Kemba and getting back Horford means financial flexibility next summer to go after a big free agent (maybe Beal).
I'm vasilating between wanting Jaylen and trading him. If they can have good chemistry and really make each other better, I'd love to have them bring BOS another banner together, being that both are homegrown talent, and are the direct result of trading KG and Pierce away to NJ.
As for a big, I highly doubt we can get Mobley. So why not Luka Garza!! He's like the exact polar opposite of Mobley. But I think his size and bulk can help offset Ayton and the other bigs around the league. Plus he's a load on offense, down low and beyond the arc. He can punish fellow bigs.

Hey, I get where you're coming from DMatts as far as wanting JB & Tatum to win another one for the rafters. I was hoping the same. But I'm also a realist and unless there's a top 10 or so player that's coming to the team that is a game changer then I'd rather trade one while the value is at/near it's peak than become a seller because you're stating over/rebuilding/dumping contacts, etc. Interesting that you don't think that we can get Mobley because I think we have an even better chance now though it'd be better w/our 1st. Det. was projected to get the [HASH]2 pk in the draft and it ended up going to Hou. who has 3 1st rd pks. I think it would've been much easier & likely to trade our [HASH]1 & JB for the 2nd pk and get a deal done though I think that's a little steep on our part. Still w/3 [HASH]1s I would see if Hou would like to come away from draft night w/JB & 2 1st, JB & maybe move up in the draft w/their 2 1st, etc. They'd have options not having to take a kid w/the 2nd pk and wait for him to develop whereas we could wait a little & bring the kid along & let him develop. Maybe bring in the kid from Israel (Madar) to grow w/Mobley and maybe you've got something Now w/that financial flexibility expanded by trading JB you're really cooking w/gas and that FA this yr or next can really make more of an impact depending on who you target whether it's Beal or someone else...Just one man's opinion...

Maybe the goal is to have a Tatum-Beal-Jaylen trio. Beal did not complain when he played second fiddle to John Wall and then to Russel Westbrook, so we know he's not a primadonna big ego guy. If that's the endgame, we need to beef up our interior defense and rebounding. I'd like to hope Rob will pan out. And I'm hoping Aaron Nesmith turns out to be our Danny Green type player -- excellent role player / defender / 3 pt marksmen / slasher-cutter.

You know DMatts, I never considered Beal's ego in all of this. But if what you say about him not needing the spotlight is true then great. I was always thinking along the lines of availability and compensation to get him. I like the way you're thinking though. A Tatum/Beal/Brown combo would be great. If you can get it. Was. if they want to move him will obviously want to get as much for him as they can rightly so. Also I'm sure other teams will be interested in him as well. I read some of the other posts about about how to get him w/o giving up JB w/other teams involved. I mean if you can make one of them work & its good for us great but I wouldn't get my hopes up. But if I'm Was. doing business w/us I'd not even entertain a deal that didn't include JB. That's just me. So the question is would all the hoops that you'd have to jump through to get Beal w/o giving up JB be worth it, equal, or more valuable than having traded JB for the [HASH]2pk & going from there? Heck, Hou could decide they want Beal & give the pk(s) up for him. In my opinion Beal is much more of a long shot for us especially if we're trying to keep JB than the [HASH]2pk...

Funny thing is I'm not a big Beal guy. He just makes sense as a guy who could become available who might fit in with Tatum and Jaylen. WAS will be in a difficult spot because they can't expect to get a big haul for Beal, who will be free agent next summer. If Beal wants to play with Tatum (and also for Udoka, who is on the coaching staff for the Olympic team), and if WAS is asking for too much, Brad Stevens can just wait until free agency to nab him.
