Bradley Beal won't be a free agent till next summer.
Unless we plan to wait till then, how would we acquire Beal without sacrificing Jaylen?

I think one way to do this would be to work with Utah if the rumors of Mitchell wanting out are true. I think we have the parts to make a trade with them. Possibly something like Smart, Fournier (SnT) and a couple of firsts. Or, if the rumors of LeBron wanting Kuzma off the team are true, we flip them Tristan for Kuzma, so we offer something like Kuzma, Fornier, our '22 and '24 first rounders, and a '23 pick swap. And then we flip Mitchell to Washington for Beal.

He is the same age group as the J's and we would just need a assist first PG and a rim protector at Center.

that's a fair point, but i think it Beal is a superior player to Mitchell. Plus, it would make Tatum happy lol.

Honestly I am tired of pandering to stars and I don't put Tatum in the star category yet. He has to get over his Kobe love to get better. He has hit his ceiling until he does. IMO he cares more about being a celebrity and trying to be the next Kobe more than being the first Tatum.

I think it's best to have one of your top 2 guys that are in their late 20s/early 30s. You rarely see teams that are full of guys 26 and under win a title. And I definitely think that Beal is a step above Mitchell. And I think Mitchell would appeal to the Wiz since they appear to be heading down a rebuild pretty soon, and a younger star would appeal to them.

Both Zach Lowe and Adrian Woj do not think Brad Stevens will offer Jaylen Brown in a trade package for Beal (makes sense because we're trying to acquire more talent, not replace it).
If no Jaylen, I'd have to think that we'd need to get another team involved.
-Smart goes to Golden State -Beal to Boston -Washington gets expiring contracts, draft picks (including GSW's #7 and a bunch of our futures) and young players (like Rob, Nesmith, Pritchard and whoever they want).

I'd pass on Beal. Injury-prone. If someone like GSW was offering [HASH]7 for Smart, I'd take it and run. Plenty of young talent in this draft whose timelines align better with Tatum and Brown. Do we need to win right away? Probably not. I don't see us getting past a healthy Nets team or the Bucks even if we had Beal to pair with the Js. Whose stopping Giannis from dropping 50 in the paint like he just did to the Suns who had a legit 7 footer.

The trick will be to get the right role players to surround Tatum-Beal-Brown. No one will stop Giannis or Durant or Luka from going off for 25+ points. But you gotta make it hard on the Middletons and the Porzingis and the other players. Maybe we need to target players with more length, players who add physicality on defense (oftentimes, disrupting a player's rhythm with body checks can be effective).
