Yam is not only good for your health, but Yam Madar might be good for the Celtics too.
His shooting has come around, which is one question folks had about him.
I don't see him being a starting PG, but he could be a solid backup with his scrappy defense and outside shooting.
It's hard to lick between him and Pritchard. Payton has already begun proving himself, while Yam has yet to show if he can hang in this league. We know what Pritch brings. But Yam has the speed factor, which is good for a change of pace.

It's so hard to tell anything by watching video highlights, and I would argue that it might be hardest when it comes to PGs because the question for me is always "Is the guy quick or is the opponent slow?" Until I see a PG who played in Europe (or Israel in this case) play against NBA competition it's just guesswork. You can tell if a guy can shoot, but not if he can penetrate.
Danny saw something though, so we can hope.

But what Pritch has shown in his rookie season is he can knock down contested jumpers and can score on drived against NBA level defenses. We can't know this about Yam until we see him do it.

Its all highlights but at first glance his passing and court vision looks good although I don't think NBA players are going to give him windows as wide to do the flashy passes.
His shooting form looks textbook but most of his highlights didn't show him draining contested 3s. It could be a result of him making sure he gets good looks.
And unfortunately I couldn't find a video of him working around the court when he doesn't have the ball in his hands..it'll be useful to understand how much work he puts into constant motion and freeing himself up for an open look or a sneaky rebound/steal.
It's promising to have a backup PG like Yam and here's to hoping that Ime will be able to develop him better than Brad has done with our PGs.

He's done pretty well against strong competition at a young age. I wouldn't be shocked to see him do pretty well in summer but I'm not sure what he can give beyond that. It wouldn't suprise me if he's nowhere near as good as Tremont or Carsen. But he needs to get a chance, especially with no Kemba

m.youtube.com/watch?v=m06v-6y27BkWhat do you guys think? Is he better than Tremont Waters? If Tremont was playing there instead of Yam, would Tremont look as good, not as good, or better than Madar?

I think Tremont would be better, especially at defense and 3 point shooting, but Tremont is older, so he's supposed to be better. Perhaps Yam is better with passing, and maybe because he's 6ft 3 he's a better fit. It may be initially a step backwards but could pay off. The other thing is he might be cheaper for just a little while, and maybe other teams would be more interested in trading for him

His ball dominant style is not an ideal fit for us. I think physically, Yam has more suddenness in his game.

I saw that article comparing Yam to Rondo and I loved it. If he's Rondo with an outside shot we're on the way to good times.

Yam was selected as his league's most improved player this past year - in other words, after he was drafted by the Celtics. So whatever Danny saw in him last year, he's a lot better now. I'm definitely intrigued. But I'm also keeping in mind who he's been playing against.

I'm definitely intrigued. But I'm also keeping in mind who he's been playing against. He's an 18 year old playing against grown professionals. And he is among the top players in a very respectable league. Think of him as a high school senior doing this well against competition that is better than high school caliber. It's the combination of his skills, his moxie, his flair, his aggressive nature all rolled up in a young man that is intriguing. I think he can be better than Tremont.
